What's new
Cloning complete ASIC customs is more a project for Kevtris and the likes or better a big community project. It's a completely different scope and skill set.
Already have people on board here with those skills :D
@brizzo I know we do :) I wouldn't touch CPS2, but I'd love to see a FPGA implementation of a CPS B-21 that would allow for a B+C board :)
You mean the A-01 custom on the A board that always fails? B-21 is the SF2CE/Captain Commando C board

So if there were to be a CPS1 multi, which boards would one need to use it?
Presumably an A board (12mhz preferred) and a B-21 C board, though thanks to Apocalypse any C board can now be used for any game, so theoretically you will just need a C board of any type. The B board contains the ROMs and any game specific PALs, so this would be the multi board

Cool, so I could make a multi from my SFII WW board?

Champion edition or Hyper Fighting.

SF2 WW is a 10mhz board, so 12mhz games would not be good on it. Look for SF2 CE instead.

Thanks!

Perfect, 12mhz Dash A board and B-21 multi, is it fully working?

Right now, I dont see a Naomi or model2/3 multi happening tbh.
Don't overlook the two most important words in this quote from Darksoft...

"Right now, ..."

Everyone has to admit that taking a Capcom I/O and a Naomi 1 and plugging in a Darksoft Multicart with a bad ass menu, that just loads the game when selected, would be kick ass.

Anyone who doesn't agree with this either doesn't understand the Naomi net-boot setup, or is just fooling themselves.

:D

Another for the wishlist

Psikyo PS5v2, there's only like 3 games worth playing, but they're all hitting CAVE levels of pricing now. Not sure if you could get the PS3/PS5 PCB games working on a PS5v2, but I think I've seen a Dragon Blaze conversion on a PS3, so it's probably possible.

Mahjong G-Taste is still within reach price-wise (and I'm looking if anyone reads this) :P

Last few loose Dragon Blaze I've seen were only $400. The one Gunbarich that's popped up in the last seemingly billion years was $550, and that was through one of the pricier Japanese retailers.

CAVE prices are 1000+ for almost anything nowadays. There's still time to grab the few meaningful Psikyo games before we're at that level!

I really just want a TGM2 Plus board, and that's hitting $800-$1000 easily on YAJ, I may have picked up a g-taste already which may or may not be the reason I'm asking for a multi. Something a bit cleaner than the messy conversion I will have to do with eproms

Ah, right, TGM. I forgot about that one.

What makes TGM2 so special? I mean, you can play TGM3 for far less using a TTX and a multi.

I'm not a super hardcore Tetris player but It's almost a totally different game without the ability to hold a piece. That's probably the biggest difference. I also like the progression of TGM on ZN2 -> TAP -> TGM3.

Speaking of ZN-2, that is one of my top desired multis if I had to rank them, and it seems like it might not be as big of an overhaul as say the CPS2 multi was, though might need to use the ZN-2 A-board as the base for its updated chips, but that assessment is a better question for the pro, @Darksoft ;)

Formal ask: Would anyone else (besides me) like to see a Darksoft multi for Capcom/Sony ZN-1 & ZN-2?

Game list isn't long (13 total for both boards), but they have some amazing titles between them! Even as separate multis they would still be great! :D

Namco System 11 & 12 multi(s) would be awesome, too!

And Namco System10!

I'm not a big PS1-era fighting game guy, so ZN boards are... eh for the most part. Though there certainly seems to be a sizable ZN following. Rival Schools, and Strider 2 are exciting, but for me personally it'd likely be cheaper to just buy those two than buy a multi.

I think I'd buy one of these. Even more so if a ZN-2 multi could run ZN-1 games as well. I'm actually not too familiar with the games but they look interesting to me. I enjoy the PS1 look. ;)
