Not willing to shell out the many hundreds of dollars a legit cart goes for now, but would like to add SSVS to (almost) round off my MVS collection.

So I'd like to either pick up a conversion or one of those newer SSVS Perfect boots with SMD chips that are out and about.

Figured I'd try here before rolling the dice on ali.

Since the game uses 64Mb roms you wont find any "conversions".

If you end up going the AliExpress route, see if you can find a seller that will let you provide the rom files. This way you dont end up with the improperly decrypted V roms that are literally everywhere on the internet.

Interesting to see that. I know the FIO board is in a lot of games, and I'd assumed that the BK2-S/R were likely just a small revision.

Will hunt down the proper ones then in case I've got to start asking around. Thanks.

They just didnt produce any 64Mb (e)proms in the DIP-42 package, atleast not that I'm aware of.
The closest you'll find are custom modules like these: https://github.com/tdaede/toshiba-64mbit-adapter
It's an expensive and time consuming prospect though.

last time I priced it out it worked out to about $8 worth of parts per module, of which you'll need about 8, and that's on top of the donor cart. and then you have all the delicate and tedious soldering work to put the modules together.

You'll also need 8-bit 32mbit modules for the V-ROMs too, and I'm not sure what donor card will have a Prog board configurable for the main program.

all said and done you're probably looking at $200 worth of raw materials before you even start constructing the conversion.

Still way better than the 650-800 I've been seeing real ones go for.

But yeah, big investment of time and effort either way. Probably best to just buy one of the newer aliexpress boots and call it a day.

Just trying to round off a second 4 slot's worth of games with some favorites.
