Jim Valentino files lawsuit over ‘ShadowHawk’ video game

this guy was trying to sell conversion carts of a unreleased rom as a exclusive Limited (200) run collectible, Under a registered business . :S named and charged absurd prices for the repo carts. $380-$1,200
some people though they where getting an extremely rare, original official SNES "sealed" mint-boxed copy. just to find out it was a repo cart in a sealed repo box.

well, I knowingly paid $300 for repro stuff, so in some cases it's not really an "absurd" price :))

I don't call that collecting, I call that hoarding. I'd like to think that true collectors are happy to share what they have with others. The collector is still the person with the original rare cart in this case even if they share it to be dumped. If anything the value of their purchase is going to go up because people might decide they really love this rare game and want to own the original cart.

Hoarders prefer to buy stuff for the "I have it and you don't" mentality and generally don't even tell anyone what they actually have, or only a select few as they prefer to keep it to themselves and that's what makes them happiest. I've never really understood this kind of thing. Has the opposite effect of the above in that if noone knows something exists how does that increase the value?

Apologies if I offend anyone :P

SO apparently there is the original ROM and the hacked version RCG edited to sell bootlegs of.

super sweet that its public now.
This looks awesome! Seems like it might get a bit repetitive after a while, especially the music - but I love side scrolling beat em ups and platformers, I really like the idea that the boss fight scene becomes something akin to a 1 on 1 fighting game

Cool... looks like its a cross between bionic commando and shinobi, or something along those lines.
