Super Megalo 2 Help!

Yeah that is high as hell! But super stoked for it. I pulled the trigger on the projector linked by tiff_lee.

Thank you Buddyc for the manual, I totally overlooked it. Unfortunately, fixing the original guns would be next to impossible BUT I'll save them in case someone wants them/needs them in the future. I have 2 sets and I'm doubtful that either work. But, my BNC cables come in today in the mail so I'll be testing that. If not, next week the Hitachi projector gets here and it'll be up and running!!
That's awesome. I would get a replacement lamp or two and store them in your cab. Once they go out of production. The price goes up.. I had to donate my first projector because the lamp replacement was $550!

I like the XGA ones the best because you get full lumen usage in your cab and better blacks than the 16:9 ones. The color black on the border portions of 16:9 are projected and cause light pollution.

Are you planning on connecting an upscaler? I use the OSSC on my cabs to get those bacon scanlines on my 240p. XGA is perfect for a 3x integer on your projector. The price is little steep for an arcade accessory so you may look into a GBS Control setup but I've never made one so I cant speak on that.

Woahhh that looks great!
I have some HW to do now.
Is this what you use?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/4017783881...Hc05ez7QuS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I'm totally ignorant to Rgb stuff. I tried asking in the crt groups and got laughed out of it so I gave up when I was trying to figure out how to Rgb mod a trinitron crt.

I'm curious as to how to pull RGB SYNC from the jamma harness on to the projector now.
Great advice getting some back up lamps for the projector. I grabbed one, found another half price on ebay so ill scoop another 👍

Yep that's the one.

Your RGBS+gr will be coming from the back of your upconverter.

If your interested in the DIY attenuation setup LMK Id be happy to guide you through pinout, solder, and attenuation.

I would recommend you use the @Hatsune Mike "Splitfire" though and connect a VGA cable to OSSC .. DONE

EDIT: Here is your device chain:

JAMMA -> Splitfire VGA Out -> AV3 Input OSSC HDMI out -> Hitachi HDMI Input

EDIT: Everything needed:
Splitfire
VGA cable
OSSC
HDMI cable

Play games

I made a post regarding calibration of a megalo 2 here:
https://www.arcade-projects.com/thr...o’-cabs-the-crt-porn-thread.17486/post-359049

You need to remove the wooden panel in fromt of the monitor housing (befind the first plastic cover)
There you will have access to all the convergence rings. There is one set pr. color. (RGB)
Rings closest to the projector tube is purity. Leave that alone for now and focus on the bottom 2 closest to the neckboard.
The red projector will adjust red etc etc.
Pull up a screen grid and adjust all convergence rings until grid is as close to solid white as possible. Took me a little under 2 hours to dial it in, so patience is nice to have…
Each projector has a screen pot and a focus pot. Screen makes for example the red color more prominent if you boost it, so you need to balance all colors so white is white and you have nice blacks. Focus makes each color sharper.

It’s not easy, but you can get a really nice and sharp image with some patience and a steady hand + 15khz games look fucking spectacular on a nicely calibrated PTV.
Give it some love and it will give you lots of love in return!

Ps. Read the manual 😁

Thank you Buddyc, I think mine is a whole different type of ptv
It was dusty as hell, so I cleaned it as best as I could.

I don't see the adjustment pots on the top as circled.

Also, this is the one that works but the fish bowl effect is tripping me out. Is this normal? Or is this missing something beyond the fresnal lense?

Here is my spare. This one looks much more like how I remember the old big screen projection tvs looked like.
This one doesn't have the rainbow magnifying/fish bowl effect. Which one looks correct to you?

Looks like you got a Mitsubishi projector. The good news is according to the manual, you have a lot of adjustment options that I didn’t have. Manual page 17.

Can’t help you there. Choose a game and go into test mode and take a pic of the crosshatch test image.

Had to dismantle both to swap fresnel lenses. One didn't have it. But we're up and running! Thanks everyone for your help. The projector will now be a back up just in case.
She looks lovely.

To clarify the CP-A222WN is 2,200 lumens, that epson in the screenshot above (20,000 lumens) is an advert 😬. Well hopefully it works Hitachi was just an example they have a whole range of those ultrashort throws with different letters/numbers dictating what features they have and you're going to need a GBS8200 or similar if feeding it a 24 khz signal
