Ultra Street Fighter II (Arcade backport)

Wait, this works on the multi now? I thought it had some extra requirements. Does the Final Fight EX run as well??

I haven't tested them, but they both should. You'll miss out on the arranged audio you can get on MiSTer, but everything else is present.

I was thinking is it possible to remove the modern hit sounds and replace them with either New Generation/2nd Impact hit sounds or just use the SSF2 hit sounds. Either one is fine. With the modern hit sounds, its like i cant hear it sometimes.

Are you only referring to the hit sounds and not the announcer?

I'm attempting to patch the ssf2t rom using UltraSF2-Patcher. The progress bar shows nothing and after about 5 seconds or so the patcher crashes and closes out. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Hi, great work porting this, playing on FBneo RC4.

shun goku satsu has knockdown, usually opponent lay solid on the floor rather than getting knocked down after the screen flash. this applies on both Akuma and Evil Ryu.

demo intro show Ryu should be j.mk cr.mk and fireball to Chun Li.

Vs. screen very faint sound effects (modern)

Is there any plans on changing commands for Akuma, evil Ryu red fireballs to HCB+punch and Dhalsim's yoga flame.

Evil Ryu's red fireball has multiple hits like Akuma's

Zangief's green hand isn't DP motion

Violent Ken's dash move DP motion feels too tight on timing.

some of these are just suggestions I'm not sure how u want the game close to the switch version or arcade.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this method require all kinds of additional files to get it to work? I'm looking to just patch the ssf2t mame rom into USF2 so I can run it on my multi. That's what the patcher I'm trying to use is supposed to do. I don't have all those Switch files/keys and what not.

Yes, you need a copy of your Switch game. Any other method is simply distributing Capcom's data without acknowledging it.

He recommends you to use his work, the UltraSF2-Patcher belongs to someone else.

It takes the kit, combines with Capcom data and then distributes it, which isn't good. I don't think the person who made it realizes this.
Hmm. Not sure what the problem is specifically, but ok. I just liked the ease of use. Take the original rom, hit the patch button, load the new rom up and play. All the messing with original files, keys, blah blah blah is above my payrate unfortunately.

Your best bet, if you're not familiar with command lines, is to get the files you need (which you'll need to figure out), and then simply ask your local Codex or Claude to run the kit and you'll end up with the files you need.

Thank you for pointing out the necessary details. Especially the VS Sound fx when you hear it, it's very faint as well as the hit sounds as I explained earlier.

RC5 adds MODERN controls across the roster, with the Switch command shortcuts and more forgiving input windows. MODERN is the default; choose CLASSIC in ULTRA CONFIGURATION to keep the previous command behavior.
  • Improved: A new 30th-anniversary logo in the intro.
  • Fix: Sky details stay stable during Evil Ryu and Violent Ken’s intro fight.
  • Fix: Throw breaks now use the correct poses, recovery, invincibility and separation for both players.
  • Fix: Player 2 can start a solo game correctly.
  • New: MODERN controls add the Switch command shortcuts and input windows across the roster. CLASSIC preserves the previous command behavior; MODERN is the default.
  • Fix: Violent Ken’s fireballs use their purple colors.
  • Fix: Corrected background details in Honda, Guile, Blanka, Chun-Li, Zangief, Ryu, Ken, Cammy and Boxer stages.
  • Fix: Cammy’s aurora stays aligned during throw screen shake.
  • Fix: Honda’s HUD mouth keeps its red color across costumes.
  • Fix: Corrected Blanka, Dee Jay, Dictator and Akuma portrait colors, with character-select icons matching their large portraits.
  • Fix: Color 2 now appears correctly in large portraits on character select, VS, defeat and Continue screens across the roster.
  • Fix: Corrected a video-memory conflict during the service-menu Memory Test.
  • Improved: The VS screen hides the speed caption, matching the Switch presentation.
  • Fix: Dhalsim's Modern Yoga Fire and defeat voices play the correct phrases.
  • Improved: The hidden Shin Akuma button chord accepts overlapping presses across the six attack buttons.
  • Fix: Demon finishes keep the fighters grounded and restore the background and effects correctly.
  • Fix: Player-select cursors stay visible over the selection heading.
  • Improved: Ending illustrations keep their pixel-art detail and corrected proportions on a 4:3 display.
Download the RC5 kit and instructions

Rebuild each region you use with the RC5 kit, then replace the previous generated files. You still need your own arcade ROMs, Switch game files and prod.keys.

Thanks to everyone who reported issues. This is a release candidate; further bug reports are welcome. Please include your region, platform and the steps to reproduce the problem.

Awesome! just tested RC5 on FBneo.

intro: Ryu cr.mk and fireball hits chun li, she never blocked the last 2 hits,

intro: Evil Ryu did a teleport passed Violent Ken's fireball and then he did the demon at point blank.

Dhalsim's yoga fire voice sounds delayed or there's a sfx before he says yoga fire modern samples

Evil Ryu's red fireball should be multiple hit like Akuma's

sound test has ULTRA logo obstructing, unable to navigate sound test

Keep up the good work!
