Modern LEDs can be waay more efficient than the ones Taito put on these 15 years ago. You don't have to worry about draw or heat as long as you pick the right ones. I would definitely populate the bottom side too!
Did you use ACRYLITE™? I've been curious to buy some to mess with but haven't pulled the trigger.Im not messing with the marquee plexis, the proper acrylic costs way too much.
I tried it and another brand, results weren't exactly like taitos but damn good/close, maybe even better.Did you use ACRYLITE™? I've been curious to buy some to mess with but haven't pulled the trigger.
Likewise, so first few of these will be all white leds. Ill add the option to connect one of these types of controllers to the bottom led lights or you can just wire them to be on all the timeI’m personally not crazy with colors and would just do plain white and not mess with any colors.
I personally love that idea!! It's perfect!Ok, Im done with all 3 pcbs - added the bottom leds.
here is the right side pcb

As it stands with the leds I have chosen, the curent draw will be about 0.5amps on the cabs 12v psu. Now this is for 1 color leds in white.
Basics are done, now to see what "features" are added
I do now the bottom row of leds will need to at least have an on/off option and most likely a dimming feature.
Should thee be switch to rgb?
Do I just provide the a connection to use one of those low cost rgb led controllers?

Ah okay, makes sense. They should light up the see through, plastic Vewlix header. I'm not sure if anyone has actually tried it.

I am looking for one for my diamond, so let me know if you still got them. Thanks!Thats the plan, gonna offer them as a lighting upgrade kit, will probably do a small run.
