What's new

what? .25 Vewlix????

I don't own a PS4, but just to verify... You are setting it to 720p (aka 1280x720) and NOT 1080p (1920x1080) right?

Huh, any options for overscan?

I've hooked a PC(DVI), xRGB mini(DVI), Xbox360(DVI+VGA) and Dreamcast(VGA) to my old stock Vewlix C (same monitor as F) without any issues so I'm thinking this is a PS4 only problem.

Yes me too but this ps4 is giving me all kinds of shit.

I also don't want to invest in a HDFury (yet) because I'm not sure that would solve anything. The Vewlix F screen is also HDCP Compatible so no idea what the problem is. Perhaps the cable, even though it works perfectly connected to PC

This works, but anything other than this screen is a no-go

Must be a setting some place if that screen works, I can see how this would be madding. :P

I know my BenQ PC monitor says "out of bounds" when I manually set overscan to "on" with the 360.
So I thought maybe try that, the Vewlix monitor behaves like a PC monitor so far as I can tell.

I might try setting the PS4 back to default settings, I can't remember ever changing the display size but I might as well reset it.

Do you have a PC monitor with DVI-D input you could test with?
If the PS4 can auto detect (remember to set the rez back down to 720p) the settings from a PC environment and save that configuration, it SHOULD work on the Vewlix?

My assumption is PS4 is convinced it's talking to a TV and applying BS like overscanning etc.
I think you're "safe mode" image pretty much proves PS4 CAN send a compatible signal if it decides to do so. X(

Make sure that HDCP is off on the PS4.. I was getting no video with the new monitor and a member pointed out that on the new ps4 firmware Sony added the ability to turn of HDCP..

DVI port, using a standard hdmi to dvi cable.

PS4 set to HDCP off, RGB to limited, Deep Color off, tried Resolution automatic, 480p and 720p. None worked. Only time I get something on the screen is when I boot to safe mode (which is in a weird resolution, something like 720 x 576 ).

If I pick 480p in safe mode and restart, I don't get anything on screen even though ps4 restarts like it should. Screen blinks a "Over Range" error.

Vewlix F screen is an original stock Sanwa screen (1360x768 max resolution) with DVI and VGA inputs.

Do you use a special cable or powered adaptor to convert to dvi?

Yes I figured as much

I'm pretty sure that ViewHD thing strips HDCP out of the signal or at least does something to make it work. The ps4 hdmi port is low power so I think it needs a powered convertor to display properly. I'll be ordering one now to test it out. Thanks a lot!

What was the audio problem?

Milspex - what is your use case for connecting a PS4 to a Vewlix and not a PC? All the arcade types games are on the PC and you get better performance, with steam big picture and the brooks fighting board, it is a plug and play setup. All the games sees the controls without any changes, like KI, USF4 etc.

no real reason, I have a pc hooked up aswell but just want to see if ps4 would work. I got the Brook universal board so I just want to play Guilty Gear Revelator and other ps4 exclusive games
