Hey peeps, got a Return of the Jedi which just constantly causes me grief. had the pcb repaired numberous times, guy has shown we it working without issue on this bench but once it goes back into the cab its a total pain in the butt and needs repair again. I'm considering removing the Atari PSU...
Sorry miscommunication. The PSU was replaced with a standard 12v and 5v supply with no change. Upon initial inspection thought we'd need a 24v, but that would just be for the solenoid.
Is there a way i can test off each of the boards to see if they are getting power? to me the top board above the DSP one doesn't appear to be getting any power
We have only tested the voltage by using the prods into the back of the plug at
We replaced the PSU with a standard 24V PSU and still same result.
The only LED we are getting on any of the PCB's is LED1 on the DSP, even then it only lights up every second boot up.
When testing the voltage from the back of the Plug we are getting a solid 12V & 5V. We even tried using the...
Hi everyone
We ended up trying to get a replacement DSP board to see if that would work - but now when we boot it up we are getting pretty much nothing. The LED sequence is now just a single red light of the DSP board. This is the same with both DSP boards (old & new)
What possibly happened...
Hi everyone. Have an Elevator Action machine with a "game swap" modification on it so that the game can be switched to a different one via a button on the cab. Issue we have is the first slot came empty with the below 18pin connector wired as below. Trying to ID what board this connector might...
Hell yeah thanks Tiff, that is exactly what i needed - somewhere in Oz!
I will order a few new ones & wait and keep the MW one as you suggested. Massive thanks, been trying to find somewhere local that stocked these for the past hour - you just saved me a lot of time!
Just an update on this, we have decided to park the project until we can get someone more experienced to work on the board for us. With it being so valuable the risk of damage is just too great for us to persist with the repair. Was hoping once the 5V was fixed we would have been all good, but...
G;day guys, we have a Lock-On machine which recently stop powering up. Literally no power at all. Checked the 7A fuse at the switch & that had not blown. With an issue like this my first step is usually to replace the PSU with anew one, however this machine operates on a EY05020 / 5V-20A as per...
Hi everyone
Thanks for all the direction here, we are following all these instructions and learning a hell of a lot.
After re-checking the Resistors we swapped on the ARII, we realized where we stuffed up. We replaced the resistors using the PCB R7 & R29 components, not that of the ARII! We...
So had some time to tinker with this a bit more.
Opened up the cage and re-plugged in each board carefully. Rebooted the game and unfortunately no change in result. I have filmed the LED sequence on the board as this might help someone smarter than me recognize the fault i am having. If...
Thanks for this advice, we have done some more work on this today.
When we inspected the board we noticed some resistors that looked unhealthy & have replaced the resistors at R7 & R29. After we did this the 9 volt dropped down to 3.5V which was great, however the 10V went up to 12V. These were...
LOL, yes he did. I actually found that thread on Aussie Arcade & have contacted him already & it has me on the lead of the issue (hopefully).
We believe that the issue is likely the DSP board in the stack. Next week when i have some time i will remove all the boards from the cage and...
