    Nac electric shema

I actually was confused enough by the Astro/New Astro ground wiring that I made a separate wiring diagram for myself during my own restore. Here's what I was able to piece together: https://github.com/Softdrink117/new-astro-city-ground-wiring My cab may be a slightly unusual case though, as it...

    (New) Astro City Cashbox Shelf

Whoops, didn't see this - It's a generic "PCB Holder"; I found it from a seller on eBay. This isn't the exact listing, but it's a very similar (perhaps identical) unit. However, I've been considering replacing it with a 3D-printed option designed by @TD-Linux , since the generic one is a bit...

    (New) Astro City Cashbox Shelf

It's a 1/2" hardwood dowel, so it can actually take a fair bit of weight in this orientation. But as the design says, you can use basically anything as long as it's the right height. Pretty much exactly what @Robertguy09 said - I don't think most people would need to hold much weight, and if you...

    (New) Astro City Cashbox Shelf

This occurred to me when I was designing it, and I ultimately decided that it wasn't a great idea. You can see in a couple photos in the opening post - there is actually not very much space above the shelf before it starts having potential clearance issues with the monitor cage (and proximity to...

FOUND Taito Type X2 Hard Drive Panel & Wood Mount Brackets

Thanks davesarcades, but tony and I were able to work it out. I'll update the thread title.

A bit of (Vewlix Dia) blue for the lads...

Lovely stuff. I was actually considering doing something similar behind my cabs (though for my case it's less about power and more about managing AV connections for streaming).

FOUND Taito Type X2 Hard Drive Panel & Wood Mount Brackets

Looking for the formed metal panel that holds hard drives for a Type X2 motherboard. I don't need a drive, just the raised panel itself. Also looking for the brackets used to mount the motherboard to a board for vertical installation inside a cabinet. I've actually found a couple of these for...

Idea: capture input from any Jamma board and display those input while streaming

I've been working on something that will handle this, but it's been stalled for a little while. Good reminder to get back to it.

    Nanao MS9-29 enhancement hacks

I've been running the 31k mod on an auto-switching MS9 for quite a while, and while I agree that it's not a perfect experience, it's not nearly what you've described here from what I've seen. I've not had any color issues when changing between resolutions - only a minor tweak to Contrast is...

    WTB Naomi GD-Rom Data Cable

FWIW I believe the data cable is a standard 50-pin SCSI cable; if you're not picky about using original hardware, you can probably find one locally at a computer shop or even order one online. Do a bit of searching online first though; I seem to remember some comments about length (like -...

    Laser-cut Astro City Marquee Holder

    No problem, happy to help!

    Laser-cut Astro City Marquee Holder

Yeah, the spacers are definitely pretty important! You can get away with a lot of other things besides laser-cut spacers though; even just washers or generic spacers from the hardware store would be fine. Anything in the 3mm-5mm range should give good clearance over the other cabinet screws.

    Laser-cut Astro City Marquee Holder

While I absolutely agree that full bleed looks better if you're willing to make custom art, that wasn't really the point of this thread. Having said that - full bleed works best when you have a template to work around screw holes and other design features, so I suppose the cutfiles would be a...

    Laser-cut Astro City Marquee Holder

Overview Front view of the marquee holder installed on a New Astro City cabinet. A few years ago I created a DIY lasercut marquee holder for the SEGA Astro City and New Astro City arcade cabinet. This design wasn't perfectly accurate - I didn't have reference to an original holder at the...

A bit of (Vewlix Dia) blue for the lads...

Not to derail the thread, but this Thing is probably a great starting point for an OSSC internal mount solution. I printed it (or rather a slightly modified version with a couple countersunk screwholes for mounting) and used it in my cab for months with no problems.

Lovely stuff FrancoB. You've always been a huge inspiration for tidy installs and elegant mod work that respects the original cab; excited to see where these cabs end up!

    (New) Astro City Cashbox Shelf

Finally got around to taking some photos of the shelf installed, with a PCB tray and PGM system for scale. I also updated the github repository with these images, too! Some extra images showing the finished support and the clearance between the PCB tray and shelf area. Plenty of room for...

    Multiple PCBs in one candy

Always glad to see people making use of it! There's a thread here about it too, with a couple more pictures than the github repo. (Also just realized I forgot to add final photos to the shelf repo and thread... eek! I'll try to do that in the next couple days) OK, updated! I have a...

Astro / New Astro City LED "Service" Light Mod + 3D Printed Mount Brackets

Thanks! Power strip is cut on the end to bare wire, then the Live/Neutral/Ground are connected to the corresponding terminals on the Astro's cable plate - fork terminals in the terminal block for AC power, and a ring terminal for the ground line. They're wired in 'upstream' of the cabinet...
