My buddy's business can print metallics. We just need the higher end art files with the dot matrix fade and not the gradient fades.

I reached out to Joe Szabo to see if he can do metallic paints or foil work on the artwork.

Also, asking around, seems like the better finish for the cabs is to go with automotive paint over powder coat for a smoother finished than can be achieved with a powder coat. Anyone have any experiences with either process they can share? I’m still calling a few shops/metal restorers in my area. One can do the powder coat and plating of the bare metal parts. A couple of auto body shops were a little reluctant to do the work on the cabs. I guess it’s a $$ over time thing. I did find one that will do the work, need to get quotes on what it will cost.

If Anyone in the NY/CT area is getting their cabs redone and recommends some shops let me know.

That would be awesome. Maybe we can hire one of our graphics artist/experts here on the site to make the files?? @hursit @friedpotatoz come to mind, who else??

I would definitely put $$ in to have these faithfully reproduced

Mikonos told me if we can get 10 people interested he can do a run. I'm trying to get a set price though.

See if he will part with the art. We can do the printing with metallics. Also, we are based in the US so shipping is less for everyone. I posted my buddy's +$120k die-cutting machine in another thread. Here it is again.

He also has a printer that does the die-cutting as it prints which is what we will be using after a little maintenance.

The original Egret 2 Side art is Screen Printing, not printing on the metal paper. They used the metallic color when they print in. It is really hard and expensive project. I was think about it before then i cancel it. Of course it is the best way print on the metallic paper. But the colors will be definitely different.

Mikonos told me the process requires offset printing for the metallic paint.
Hımm its good then. I couldn't find any offset machine that use Metallic silver paint. If they have, the process will be easier then screen printing. But offset means at least 200-500 pc.

See if he will part with the art.
If you look at his thread on UKVAC it says at the very top that he will not sell or give out his art files. And I can understand that given the time he put into them.

Those who got egret 2’s, where are you looking to determine what kind of tube you have? I don’t see any obvious labels for the manufacturer on mine, though admittedly it is caked in pitch black crap and a label might be hiding somewhere...

Mikonos said if we get the ten sets of art claimed that they will cost 80 euro each.

Should I go ahead and start a group order/interest check for the art?

Should post from here be moved to a dedicated Egret 2 restoration thread?
I vote yes.

I'll take 2 sets at that price. And yeah, a separate owners' thread for Egret II stuff would be good.

Please someone can give me the measurements for the side arts ?
i have the vectored file but i need the check it

If original it'll be a a Nanao MS9-29T with a Toshiba A68KJU96X tube.

There should be a label on the back of the CRT glass that looks like this.
