Reset, bank select, and 12 pos. selector.

:D

All design work and credit goes to @oneleaf86

Preview of the new and improved deluxe rotary selector.

Features:
  • Printed games list that lines up perfectly with the rotary switch positions.
  • Solderless install, literally plug n play with tidy & easy cable management.
  • Onboard reset.
  • Bank selection switch to cycle all 32 games.
Works absolutely perfectly!

I'll leave further details for @oneleaf86 to outline as this is his project, I'm merely testing as he doesn't yet have the wonderful S16 multi.

So I have the old 16B selector.
Perhaps I missed a thread about why there's a deluxe version.

Can I still get in on the order for the deluxe selector???
Pardon me if I'm missing any posts about it.

I do too. Looks like the game names are printed, which is nice. And Frank is claiming solderless, whereas I think the original version required one wire to be soldered for reset?

Regardless, I'd probably upgrade too because I'm crazy like that.

I’m looking forward to getting mine. The OG rotary selector is already a joy to use due to how quick it is to get to a game. Simply spin and hit reset. 2 banks of 16 games, having them labeled is just perfect!

Ok, so if I end up getting the new selector, can the old one be used on something like the M72?
I assume it could.
I think I read something on the reset wire too.

Same question for me!

Also, should we do a group buy for us US members or does that not make sense?

Can you spin and hit the reset while the system is already on? I know Frank is working on a OLED version of the selector and the nice part of that was being able to change games without having to power cycle.

There's a certain charm keeping it rotary like this with labels though.

Yes, with the rotary there's no need to power cycle.

What I do is, with the system on and running, hold and keep held down the reset button - spin rotary to desired game - release reset button and boom game is loaded.

Have you tried rotating first, and then pushing reset?

I thought that was the idea.

But either way is fine as long as it works!

:D

Finalised version of the remote PCB. Some small tweaks, mainly text size and layout.

You can rotate>reset or vice versa, either works perfectly fine :)

Either way does work however I prefer to be safe and keep the system suspended (hold down reset) while changing the rotary. You'll notice it interferes with the game if you do it the other way, graphical glitches and lock ups etc.

I spin my switch, hit the reset button and BOOM! I’m on.
