What's new
Hey Hursit, is shipping to Australia still an issue? i'd love one of these ;)

Now i need to find a cheap ugly dreamcast to use for this. The one i have is too pretty to take apart.

Hi @hursit - sorry to bug you, but I am excited! Is the first batch ready to go yet? :)

Thanks,

Matt
Hello
Everything is ready, but the PCB factory make a small mistake. They have produce it the SD Extender PCB only 15pc. I was order 400pc normally :( They have made the rest ald ship to me already. Waiting for that.

I will shoot some videos and How to build video this weekend and will share it next weekend. Then will start to ship :)

Hi Hursit,

Thanks for supporting the Dreamcast I am interested in using one of these for a DCHDMI unit so I don’t have to cut my cases, but have a few questions.

Did you establish if the MODE would fit or not?

What colour will the injection moulded plastic parts be?

Will it be available with orange swirl/logo in the top? Where does the illumination come from?

Thanks again

Hello people
DreamCase is ready for shipping. I will start to ship the packets Monday , and the buyers will get confirmation email about tracking Numbers.

Sorry for the delay because of the pandemic :( . But im happy i have completed the project. Thanks to everyone who support and trust about it.

The plastic parts have 2 different color option. Blue and Red. The Top led has too. You will see the plastic parts in the video but you will get plastic parts with Different Type.

The plastic parts painted by Metallic Blue and Metallic Red. It looks like aluminium :) . The other feature about this paint is SOFT TOUCH . When you touch the plastic parts you will feel like velvet. I will share those pictures too very soon.

Please watch the video

I’m shocked by your attention to detail.

It comes in a glossy box and the accessories each have their own box instead of clear plastic baggies.

Can you elaborate on the what to do if we use Noctua 40mm fans instead of stock inside the Dreamcase?

Thanks for the post, good to see these are ready, congratulations. Thanks for the video too, very informative.

Did you establish if the MODE will fit fine?

Can you elaborate on the power supply? ‘Better’ quality than the DreamPSU? Does it still provide 12v power? Enough power for MODE if we intend to use mechanical drive?

Is the ‘soft touch’ paint suitable for painting over if we want to change colour of these parts?

Cheers!

He uses a 40mm Noctua fan in the video.

Yes but he says soldering experience required if using a noctua fan in his video.

I wanted to know what that meant.

I don’t see why tying in your speaker supply lines would require soldering.

I am pretty sure he means you will have to cut off the existing fan connector off the original fan and put it on the Noctua - so you can solder, or just a barrel crimp connector.

He gives you a plate that goes in the back of the Noctua 40mm fan and then screw it together into the case.

as for the connector, get the 3 pin Noctua 40mm x 10mm fan

I dont have the MODE hardware now and i couldnt test it. But it looks lik MODE will not fit into my case because of the my power switch. When i have started to this projects, MODE wasnt exist . I havent test it with my PSU

I can totally tell you my PSU better than DreamPSU. That PSU has problems.
I didnt test about RE-painting actually. But it looks like you can do it

@RealDecepticonZero Thats why, i have written for the Solder skill. You have to change connector for the Noctua.
