Hey! I just wanted to throw out some feelers here if there's any chance anyone is in the market to sell their Taito Egret II. I'm mostly looking for a nice one that doesn't need any work anywhere across the US (I'll arrange all shipping). Single or dual control panel doesn't matter.

Nice Alien. ;)

Good luck, I just did a price check thread on them the other day and they're not exactly cheap right now ...

Ha, it's not everyday I get an artist reply! :D Great job throughout by the way, I love the game, the art, the atmosphere!

Yep, that is my understanding too. I'm willing to pay for the right one though.

Start networking and it will be bound to show up. It’s all luck, timing and money ready. This was the case for a Capcom Mini Cute and Neo Geo SC19 for me. Looking for an Egret II myself.

So say we all!

But the hunt is part of the fun. If you don't have cabs yet my suggestion is either be prepared to be patient for this one, or, if that's hard because you really want one, consider starting with a reliable and awesome Astro City and letting the Egret come your way when the universe wills it to be so.

I was looking for a Blast City for ages it seems. I was surprised when I found one just sitting in the lists on the ReplayFX sale. Score!

Birthday boy bump! Lowering the bar somewhat. Now extending my search to include:

- Astro City
- New Astro City
- New Net City
- Blast City
- Egret 3
- Sammy Atomiswave SD

Will arrange shipping with STI from anywhere in the US. I'm not looking for a project at this time.

Settle for a NAC? They have the same monitor, and play the same games :P
These days even a NAC is hard to find, so nice work!
to not mention an Astro 2 cab  . Astro or New Astro City cabinets are very nice too ! But yeah , if you want to use one cab for everything , one with rotate mechanism is good to go and yes , a screen + chassis able to give you 15,24,31khz is also great thing

If you want a cab with a rotation mech that's actually easy to use then get a Capcom Q.

The Egret II rotation is overhyped. I'd love to have one just to round out my collection, but I have 8 cabs already. If you're getting your first any cab is a cool piece of arcade history, and the NAC is one of the all time best and a definite classic. Nothing settling about it.

Agreed ^

NAC are the GOAT. E2’s are overrated, IMO. The rotation mech sounds cool, but in practice you won’t be rotating as much as you think.

You can’t go wrong with a solid NAC. Count yourself lucky rather than counting yourself as settling.

Damn, that looks like a sweet cab. Are they only available in 25"?

So I keep hearing. But rotated my Blast once and I said to myself, never again.

Thanks for the encouragement. The monitor in the NAC did not make the transit unfortunately. ;(

Yes. And it's a perfectly sweet size in person, and even better when vertical. And the rotation mech is actually good, and not hype. Double ball bearings, you can do it with one hand.

Cheaper to just buy two cabs and keep one rotated. E2s are nice cabs but the prices have gotten so stupid.
This times 100. It's miles better to just have a dedicated vertical cab.

Oh no. What happened? Maybe it's not fatal.

Co-sign. The NAC to me is the greatest Candy of them all. Prefer the look of them over the vanilla Astro City and the sound is infinitely better stock.

I keep this in mind, I kinda like the looks of it.

Limited space for candies. My Blast run a XBOX360 fulltime, nothing but TATE games. I have a Chewlix that runs all the other consoles (well, it has a XBOX360 too) and a PC in YOKO. My third cab would ideally be a "arcade PCBs only" that would be able to run both orientations.

God knows, here's the scoop: https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/nanao-ms8-broke-in-transit.20010/
