What's new
Have you connected the auxiliary power to the 660? Both 6-pin molex plugs were wrapped up behind the black psu air duct…
Yah definitely connected the 6-pin.

I’ll try flashing the board BIOS next. Thanks guys.

All good now thanks to @ShootTheCore

Hey guys, updated my bios to b23 and upgraded to a gtx 1060. When i go to shutdown the x3, it acts like its going to shutdown, but then it restarts. Any ideas of what I can try?

What do you mean then it restarts? Like, it shuts down and powers off for 2-3 seconds and then powers itself back on? Or it never actually powers off and just restarts?

That's how they work. It's coded into the system to do that and you can't turn it off AFAIK.

The only way you stop that is to remove FP1 connector from teh motherboard, and install a manual power on and off switch, you'll lose the power and HDD leds on the back as well. You will also need to manually power it on each time you want it on.
Ahh, I had no idea that this was the normal behavior. Good to know!

I am going to try these 2 suggestions to see if they do anything:

1. Go into BIOS and change your power settings to " Remain off after power failure" in the Power Management section.

2. Optionally, switch from S3 to S1 power mode in BIOS or reverse.

Yeah play around with it, but it's actually the DMAC card that's kicking it to turn on through the motherboard standard front panel header. I guess it's just designed as an always ON type of system and if it shuts down for any reason turn it back on. It makes sense from an arcade perspective.

Those options might effect it. Maybe number 1. Let us know if it does, it's not something i've ever really needed.

The problem is, if you get it to stop kicking itself on, how will you turn it on then? You'll have to hard wire a switch to PW SW on the FP header on your motherboard, just like a normal pc.
Right now I have the X3 in my Vewlix cabinet. When I switch the cabinet off and on it kills/provides power to the X3.

Ok so I tried both of those settings in the BIOS and it still powers back on after a few seconds.

One other strange thing that I found. If I use a DVI cable to the monitor, the Nvidia control panel shows no information. If I use a VGA cable to the same monitor, everything is populated/shown. I installed the latest Nvidia drivers, but that did not fix it.

That will be something to do with EDID over VGA or DVI. Could be the DVI cable, depending on if/how all the pins are populated. Do you have a different DVI cable to test with, or an HDMI cable/adapter?

Great point, I will try a different DVI cable and report back.

I just shut it down and then quickly turn off my cab before it auto boots.

So I purchased a new DVI cable from Amazon, but the EDID information is still missing in Nvidia Control Panel.

Maybe the Vewlix Diamond Black monitor has no EDID info on the DVI port?

I don't get EDID information either with my DB Orange monitor via DVI.

Pretty sure the DB and DB Orange have the same 1080p monitor by Indisign or disign, one of those.

So after reading through all this thread I am up to upgrading the TX3 I bought as well.
It's the 405 Version i3-2120 3.3GHz, 2Gbx2, N640
HOWEVER: Before I upgrade to GTX 660 and i5 with additional RAM I would like to have your input if there will be any real benefits
since I will only use the original Sanwa Monitor from my F which is only 720p.
- Will the Multi V4 in general run as smooth on a TX3 405 Version since it's advised to have the i5 with the GTX 660?
- Does anyone have a list on hand which games actually only run in 1080p and not 720? In the Readme of Artax it only says "some games"

A better path would be to literally bin the original cpu/mobo/ram and go with a new platform instead. I mean the original motherboard is nothing special at-all. It's el cheapo with a silkscreened logo and of course ancient.

What do you mean by "go with a new Platform"?

@Lachlan I guess the point people use these are also for the direct JVS support, not only because it's a pc? Or can you use the JVS boards with regular motherboards?

Having the JVS/FastIO is definitely nice.

For those only needing JVS, A PC and a JVS-PAC are worth looking at if you have a PC and haven't already bought an X3 or something.

I want to replace the GTX660 with something that uses less power and runs cooler. I just want to run USFIV, nothing else. Is the 1050 the card to go for? Looks like those go for around 70 euros, which seems to me the best TDP for the buck ratio.
