I've ordered me an official MP07-IONA-US from Japan. So glad to finally compromise relying on having to disassemble 15 million different cheap racing wheels to play Jambo Safari, and attempting to mod them, only to find out they end up as bin fodder.

Is it possible to adapt a Sinden Lightgun to play JVS shooters with this? I know the gun relies on a white border to detect where it is aiming, but since OSSC can do that, I wonder if it is possible to play JVS shooters with a Sinden via the OSSC. Playing arcade HOD2 at home on real hardware without having to buy a movie ticket at the local theater would be heavenly.

I know it's possible to play HOD2 with standard analog potentiometer inputs without the Gun Sense board, but this is just a thought. Here's Mitsurugi-W's video of what I'm referring to:

IONA v3 board just arrived, i was lucky that my laptop recognizes it easily. the main differences is you now do the button mapping on the settings page. you can set up to 6 different mappings then save them to the IONA. to recall them you long press TEST and SERVICE until the LED turns off. at this point you press TEST and the LED will flash once (this is set 1), press TEST again and it'll flash twice (for set 2) so on and so on. to select the set just press SERVICE and the LED will turn back on and you're ready. it took me a bit to figure it out since it's not documented really well.

The button mapping that was used for v1 and v2 boards no longer applies

Do we know of a printable case is already available for the V3 board ?

I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like the screw positions and USB port positions between V2 and V3 are the same, so V2 cases should work.

The only difference will be that the alternate JVS I/O port on the side will be blocked. If I eventually upgrade from my V1 over to the V3 board, I will update and upload a design for it. My old V2 case design might work, but I'm not sure because I have never test fit this case to the PCB, and anyone who has tried it has not provided feedback on fitment. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5332682

Anyone having any luck with analog controls with driving games? In crazy taxi it's like the trigger isn't pulled all the way when it is on 2 different Xbox one controllers (1 series x generation,1 elite series 2).
 
Has anyone linked two V3's with 4 Brook UFBs as the controllers? Or just done one or the other? This would make it really easy for me to do 4p JVS games with my 4 cab setup. Thinking TTT, TTT2, Power Stone 2, etc.
 
So i had a question.
Im running a Naomi 1 with CvS2 conversion cart, modded dreamcast psu and controls through maple2naomi w/brook adapter.
I was getting I/O error running it as is.
PPl suggesting i try iona, which i happened to have one laying around that i bought off aliexpress over a year ago.
Plugged it in and its working fine.

Are they any disadvantages of using the iona in a setup such as mine?
Will I benefit by updating the iona since i used it straight out of the box?

I think you'll have to be a guinea pig about updating a "china" one.i don't recall ever seeing anyone mention updating a bootleg one anywhere. I think most of us have a "real" one.
 
Yeah, thats the thing.
Out of curiosity which firmware update would be the most crucial for fixes to how the Iona runs.
As i really do not care about controller compatibility, only using Iona to avoid I/O error when running my setup.
Maple2Naomi/Brook adapter will be do all the lifting as far as joysticks/controllers are concerned
 
@MountainDewFKR - You know the saying... If it ain't broke...
Besides, if you are solely using it to meet the missing IO error, then its just a test and service switch in your case.

That said, the v2.xx version allows the pre-loading of controller profiles which will save you some hassle there.
I have a 'china' version... I did need to touch up the solder on the USB-C port, but as these are open source, there really aren't 'bootlegs' to be had...
Do yourself a favour and find a USB-A to A cable for updating .
 
Has anyone tried updating the stock firmware on a china made jvs usb adapter? it only works on certain Naomi motherboards with the firmware it came with, doesn't work on the early models so I'm looking to fix that. I tried flashing it on the webpage but it doesn't seem to detect it.
