Greetings!

I am at a loss here! Here is the set up

- 2x H2H Sega New Net Cities set up

- First set up : Naomi 1 mono, NetDimm, raspberry pi loader
- Using the VS link board to set up H2H
- powered by the machine SUN PSU
- Audio, Video , Controls all work
- Issue: After around 30 minutes, all controls lock up and nothing works.

- Second set up : Naomi 2 mono, NetDimm, raspberry pi loader
- By passing VS link board, direct splitting audio and video straight from N2 mobo
- Directly linking the SEGA JVS I/O boards with a super long cable from p2 into p1 SEGA JVA IO
- powered by the machine SUN PSU
- Audio, Video , Controls all work
- Issue: After around 30 minutes, all controls lock up and nothing works.

I have no idea why this locks up. It only happens on CVS2. I've looked around and it doesn't seem like anyone has any solution. Someone people see it some people don't. This is highly annoying and does anyone have any idea what's going on here?

Hoping someone who's seen this has a solution here.

Same issue as Vodka?

It's probably the I/O, from the sound of it.

yeah, same issue as @VodkaGobalsky , he frequents my arcade here in the baying we've been trying to figure out our same issues!

I think im need to get my hands on a Sega JVS version 1.0 that came with the Naomi universal to test

Not sure if the Chihiro JVS I/O (Type 3?) is a drop-in or not, but could give that one a go. It's supposed to have pretty low latency, and likely will not suffer from the same glitch.

Never seen the issue or a solution but what happens with the video when the controls freeze? Does the video freeze too or does it keep running?

The game is still running fine. It’s the entire IO that stops responding. Not even the service buttons works.

Given that it seems to be more related to time and not any particular game state and that it only seems to show up when cabs are linked I am wondering if this may not be a thermal issue. Personally I would thermal image the I/O immediately after a freeze and see what that shows. If you don't have access to thermal imaging maybe try fanning the I/O and see if you get any improvement.

It's only an educated guess though.

It actually freezes for me without linking to another machine. I have 1 machine with 2nd player controlled via maple adapter on filter board. And it will only freeze at the end of a game, never during a match.

Upate: I tried putting in a Sega JVS Type 3 IO and no dice, it still freezes. The game play is going but none of the controls work .

The search for a solution continues...

So far I know that following IOs have not worked for me

Sega JVS Type 1.5, and Type 3 have not worked.

Looking for a Type 1, Type 2 to try
