Astro City - I’ve fried something!

Quick update on this - Gunblade kindly helped me out with this on the UKVAC forums - turned out it was the fuse inside the Astro 400 5198 power supply (the one that’s soldered directly to the board) that had blown Power was getting to the monitor but nothing to the Jamma connector After...

Astro City - I’ve fried something!

Just looking back at some photos I took earlier - chassis is a little grubby, but looks suspiciously like scorch marks underneath the flyback….

Astro City - I’ve fried something!

Thanks for your help here So, if I still get sound when so plug in the Mistercade (won’t be able to check for a couple of days now), what would you reckon are the first things I should look at on the chassis itself?

Astro City - I’ve fried something!

Got rid of the couple of PCBs I had to fund the Mistercade, unfortunately There’s a definite burnt smell around the Jamma edge on the Mistercade itself, however I’ve plugged it into my other cabinet and it’s working properly. I’ll plug the speakers back in and see if get any sound and report back!

Astro City - I’ve fried something!

Had my monitor (MS9-29) out of my Astro City cabinet today to do some finer adjustments on geometry etc. All went as planned, but stupidly forgot to reattach the anode cup to the monitor before plugging it back in! Cue sparks and smoke - looked like it was coming from around the Jamma...

    Nanao MS9-29 chassis missing component

Just bought a cheap spare chassis for my Nanao MS9-29 - recapped it but then noticed that the component below has been removed (photo of my working chassis, for reference!) Can anyone let me know what this is called and where I could potentially source a replacement, hopefully without having to...

    Nanao MS-9 Image curl issues

Hi everyone Relatively new to the world of CRT technology Can someone please school me on how to properly dial in the HS LIM and VS LIM pots on a Nanao MS9 chassis, and how these should be set in conjunction with the H SIZE and V SIZE pots on the remote board? i.e should I start with the pots...

Repairing a plastic control panel frame

Think some sort of adhesive would be fine as the CP itself would probably give it additional stability, but probably better to have something underneath in addition, to be safe. Cheers for your help - I've sent some images off to a couple of places and will see what they come with quote-wise

Repairing a plastic control panel frame

Unfortunately not - may be something that a 3D scanning/printing company could do remotely though, if I sent them the CP frame itself. Cheers for the info!

Repairing a plastic control panel frame

Wouldn’t know where to begin in AutoCAD unfortunately - does anyone on the board offer this type of work as a service?

Repairing a plastic control panel frame

Got this sorry looking Super Neo 29 control panel frame - looks like they’ve sawn through the back of the frame to open the locks 😩 Getting a replacement is proving difficult, so going to attempt some sort of repair Was thinking I could bridge the underside of the saw hole with some ABS...
