It doesn't. The speakers still plays when you connect a headphone. There is a separate onscreen audio sensor where you can increase or decrease the sound coming through the headphone jack. At least this is how it is on an actual Chunithm machine.

What 300wins said. you can also on the arcade just turn off the volume for the main speakers and the headphones will still play, at least it does on my cab.
