Minigun Supergun - An Open Source Supergun

I don't have anything and the guy that gave it to me keeps telling me to buy a genisis 2 cable and it will work (which it dosen't). I've never had a supergun and normally just use an empty jamma cabinet. As far as a monitor I have an ASUS and Hp also an old flat screen tv with avi/hdmi and a CRT TV.
You said it showed a VERY dark picture "no color". What display was that on? Does it support RGBS? Does your genesis cable support RGBS?

The one I have is a 9 pin, I was told to get a genisis 2 AV cable and all I get is a VERY dark picture " no color".
Choices

Genesis Model 2 HD RETROVISION Component Cables

Or

Genesis Model 2 RGB Scart Cable

Make sure your display can accept 240p via RGB Scart or COMPONENT

You can also use a transcoder to convert RGB Scart to Component

Use a device like an OSSC to scale to HDMI Displays

This ^^^^

Im guessing you are using a traditional Genesis model 2 9pin composite cable but not sure because you haven't specified ( 9pin --> Composite (Yellow), Left Channel(White), Right Channel(Red) ).

As others have mentioned before, the issue you are having is that the Minigun is designed to be used with a SCART / BNC or Component output. If your display only has composite in, you will need to do some modding or find a way to convert RGBS to Composite (there are tons of cheap adapters that do this).

You mentioned its an old Sylvania which I dont believe any ever had SCART here in the US and definitely not BNC, maybe it has component?

If you will not answer basic troubleshooting questions, it makes it incredibly difficult to help you.
Sorry I thought that I put 9 pin composite earlier but I failed to put the composite part. My apologize.

Composite video is not output from the minigun. That is why I asked if your display supposed RGBS. The minigun only outputs video in RGBS format.

You can buy a Genesis 2 RGB scart cable or the hd retrovision Genesis 2 component cable.

After that last post and a few PMs, an md8 to JP21 was needed. I have had this a few times from people with the minigun, I think one of the upscalers uses JP21. I made a few bidirectional Euro SCART to JP21 adapters and a few of @Frank_fjs md8 to scart adapters. So if anyone is needing one hit me up.
