SEGA Lindbergh Documentation + Preservation Project - Help needed!

Error 28 is displayed when SEGABOOT is unable to verify the alpha-DVD. ie. it knows you are using a copy.

You have 2 choices:
1) Obtain an original install DVD;
2) Patch Segaboot to not care about the alpha checks.

I thought AlphaDVD wasn't used before the Ring era?

EDIT: nevermind, I was told I was mistaken.

I've never seen that G IIRC. I think I saw once a 5004D
It exists, we have it dumped.

  • Version A (Dec 2008 ): Improved game systems and added "Bingo Festival" support.
  • Version B (May 2009 ): Changed character move animations, added balance tweaks, and updated the camera system.
  • Version C (Nov 2009 ): Added new character customization items.

Good info. What was added in that version G from the picture?

I don't think the DVD letter is the same as the game revision, I would think the disk with the bigger letter would be the revision C of the game.
The disks are marked as follows with version numbers, but i dont think it reflects the in game version number. I know for sure it doesnt on some games.

If you put that in a line it goes

DVP-5004 = 1.001 << YES
DVP-5004A = v2? <not known if it exists
DVP-5004B = v3? <not known if it exists
DVP-5004C = v4? <not known if it exists
DVP-5004D = 5.000 << YES
DVP-5004E = v6? <not known if it exists
DVP-5004F = v7? <not known if it exists
DVP-5004-G = 8.000 << YES

So 5004, 5004D and 5004G are confirmed to exist, and if you did have a disk for each letter that follows the standard numbering convention, the version numbers would increment perfectly to match. I see this with a lof of games where there's gaps.

Makes me wonder if there's a heap of disks that are just very rare, or internal game revisions that never got disk pressed/released.

You can see the disk numbers and revisions of disks here, the pattern fits most games

I made lindberg-keytool to recover previously undumped security keys without requiring decapping.
I'm happy to provide the service for free if you cover the shipping costs to and from France !

Using it, I successfully dumped the security key for After Burner Climax SDX ( 317-0463-com - 253-5508-0463 )

Wow! Is this for real?

Small tool for viewing your Lindbergh keychip backups. It's just a simple parsing tool, nothing more, it doesn't do anything other than translate info you can see by opening the file in a hex editor. You can test it with some of the mame dumps.

Just open your pic file in this program and it will tell you the game code, game name, firmware revision, the game network subnet (if it has one) and a few other pieces of information you might want. Also makes it easy to share this information if you want to contribute to the preservation project.

It's a python script and runs on windows and linux. You will probably have to install 1 dependency on linux. Some games have some more info in the identity block that i don't know what it's for, if you know and can share that would be great also.

Hello,

Question about the DVP-5016 dump, SBTZ, World Club Champion Football: Intercontinental Clubs 2009-2010

Is this just the satellite software, or does it also include the server software?

If it's only the satellite software, where can I find the corresponding server software?

Thank you very much!

From what I've seen the DVD is the same but has different sessions depending on what keychip is inserted, it installs one thing or the other.

Server is on the same disk, but you will need the keychip for the server to decrypt it. As darksoft mentioned.

Thanks for the reply.

As I mentioned above, I have a working system with 4 satellites. It runs WCCF 2005/06, which is the latest NAOMI 2 version. The versions from 06/07 through 09/10 ran on Lindbergh.

I’d like to update my installation to 09/10, which means updating the hardware to Lindbergh (a minor issue) and installing version 09/10 (a bigger issue).

I see two hurdles here:
- Unfortunately, I don’t have a Keychip and wouldn’t know where to buy one
- Starting from Lindbergh, the server apparently ran on ALL.Net

My question:
Is it possible to make the game keychip-free (decrypted boot) and to “emulate” ALL.Net locally?

Thanks in advance.

You have to identify what keychip it is and then find one. You generally need different keychips for the server and the clients.

If it ran on all.net then you will probably have to rebuild the server for that if it doesn't have a local only mode. Making the game keychip free without a keychip is probably not possible.

I dont have the keychip numbers documented for those games, so can't help you there.
