Did that once with CPS2 LCD case, never again....

Happily reordered them from you + the cost for international shipping, your quality is just unlike what I've seen up to now :D

I have a few ideas for 3D designed/printed parts if you have interest in developing them.
  • A 32x to Genesis 3 spacer
You see the 32x will actually work with a Genesis 3 IF you modify the cart port, unfortunately no official spacer exists (and its kinda wobbly) for Genesis 3 only model 2's.
  • A PCEngine Briefcase (IFU30) panel/mount for a 8-pin mini din jack
I want to move my mod from the console to the briefcase (you guys convinced me) but I want a nice replacement panel for the composite/left/right RCA that has a single mini din.
  • A NES Top loader (101) panel/mount for a 8-pin mini din jack
Same thing as the PCEngine idea, and in fact versions of this part do exist but for some crazy reason people think it's better to use the multi-out jack of the SNES/N64/GC etc, what I want is mini din.
  • A redesign of the bottom half of the ST-V LCD selector shell
The LCD selector is nearly perfect, however to mount it on the board I borrowed a trick from @ShootTheCore and mounted PCB feet upside down and superglued the foot part to the bottom side of the shell... If the bottom half of the shell had these screw posts (properly spaced out) printed into the bottom it would look alot cleaner/nicer IMO.
 
I'm always looking for suggestions.

it's on my to-do list. I need to find a suitable panel-mount power connector first. Does anyone know the proper size of the IFU30 power plug? For my own uses I'm going with a Sega Model2 style AV connector but it wouldn't be hard to design for something else.

This would be difficult to do the way you've described it. 3D printed items need a large flat area to serve as the build base (used to hold the part in place while it prints). currently that's the bottom of the case. integrating standoffs would give us no good base to make the print viable.

It's possible to perhaps design a separate piece for this... to be honest though I hate printing those STV cases, both the cart case and the LCD selector case. they take twice as long to print than anything else I sell and half the time they don't print properly and I have to throw away parts. I've debated no longer carrying them many times.

The problem with some of these suggestions though is that a lot of them are subjective. I know you like using the DIN plug for RGB but a lot of other people (myself included) don't. Similarly the ST-V LCD mounting, not everyone wants to mount their LCD at that spot on the PCB. so no only are these niche items, but they're niche within a niche.

I have no problem designing this stuff, especially for a friend and fellow AP member, but the viability for sales is questionable.

I'd take one, no need for something special/different... I still say the issue with 9-pin aka Genesis 2 din is people will be tempted to use a Genesis SCART cable, that would be too dark because of the resistors inside (ie what Genesis needs for proper RGB levels). 8-pin is now accepted to be pure/direct wire into SCART thanks to popularization from xRGB and HAS.

Hell even Saturn SCART cables often have LM1881 sync strippers in the hood in an effort to retain compatibility with both NTSC and PAL consoles.
NTSC has c-sync, PAL hasn't, but they both have c-video which can be stripped for c-sync so that's how most (but not all) are wired.

But yea, point being use almost any of the above "off the shelf" (pre-made) 9-pin din to SCART cables and it won't be right... So why use the connector again?

Yeah it seems pretty steep shipping cost for 310 grams, that sucks though as I really wanted to support your work but the shipping costs are too high. I was able to get two MC Cthulhu boards shipped for $14 surely they must weight more than 310 grams, I'm not saying you are making money off shipping or anything like that but shipping from US is never consistent in price. ?(
 
the difference is all of my stuff is shipped in a box. Small pcbs can be safely shipped in an envelope; which is considerably cheaper.
 
ATTENTION: For those of you who bought a CPS2 in the last batch.

There was a production mistake and the recent batch of CPS2s had shorter than normal buttons that are recessed and therefore can't be reached once a case is installed.

If you ordered a 3D printed housing WITH your CPS2 from Save Your Games then Aldo will have already replaced the buttons so you don't have anything to worry about. However if you didn't order a case from Save Your games, you will need the replacement buttons.

Darksoft has provided me with some replacement buttons so if you need these included with your case please add a note to your order, or if you want to send your LCD to me I will gladly replace the buttons for your and ship it back to you with your LCD order.
 
@twistedsymphony Just printed off a copy of the f3 holster, took about 4hr20m on my ender3 @ 0.2mm layer height, looks very good. Only issue is the tip of the cable routing 'ring' snapped off, not sure if that's indicative of an issue with my printer setup (I haven't done many prints with it yet), but maybe it could do with a little more support? I'm sure it'll work just fine even with the little bit broken off though.

I'm not sure why you're having issues with the cable opening, I've printed a lot of these and can't say I've run into that issue, I know thin sections like that can have some problems with certain materials if your speed is too high through that section.

In any case it should still work fine, as long as the bottom section goes the full width of the opening.
 
Finally got round to getting a CPS2 housing printed off. Thank you @twistedsymphony for making this freely available to one and all :thumbup:

Oh also I need that PiForce case for my Naomi, I'm still not sure about print color tho (maybe I should paint the Naomi again to match something else). :D

I just finished the design on the USB GDROM HDD Tray
I need to make some adjustments to my Nintendo Switch Vertical Grip (shouldn't take more than a day or two)
After that I'm designing a Volume Pot mount for Midway Y/T-Unit PCBs
Then I'm starting work on the WASP Custom tray.

I can probably squeeze in some new material testing this weekend to get that PiForce case printed, I'm very low on stock of those so I need to print up more anyway.

My new Printer should be shipping next week and then I've got some other new products already designed that I'll be able to start offering (they're too big for my current printer).

Agree ... besides that ... i will use too on my dreamcast + saturn the trays printed by TS ! + CPS2 Multi LCD selector case grabbed from Aldo (SYG) who is a TS product as well :thumbsup:
