3D printed replacement cases for carts

Thanks @nnap. I just test printed one of the through hole cases in red PLA-silk and apart from a really minor z offset issue at my end they turned out great. I am interested in trying the heat insI 9et case in transparent red PLA as well, but I'll need to get my hands on this filiment first. It's a really nicely thought out and designed cart shell.

I was inspired by my Demon Front cartridge to try and print these using some transparent red PLA. Of course with it being printed on an FDM printer it'll never look the same as injection moulded, but it came out pretty good. I also got to test my heat set insert tips that I purchased ages ago, they made it super easy to fit the inserts.

It took just under 3 hours to print each case half

Now, where do I get some stickers from?

Thanks a lot! - will print it right away and label my own cartridge :) Would you mind sharing that super puzzli2 design as single file?

more around the fitment of the nuts and the dept of the screw holes. Depending on the filament, the sides can sag a little which leads to those gaps. Depends a bit on the printer too.

One of my hobbies is making props, Star Wars helmets etc. I do a lot of post processing of 3D parts. If anyone was really into making their shells look more factory or 'nicer' it would not be hard at all to sand and polish them.

Anyone with an enclosed printer and a space for it or ventilation might want to experiment with ABS too. Not only does it sand better, some acetone vapor smoothing might be interesting to try.

My props are all painted and clear coated etc, maybe beyond what anyone wants to do. But I did make these the other day, coffee bean dosing cups. The front one is matte PLA with a fuzzy texture, not that relevant, but the one is the back is white ABS that's been sanded smooth. You really cannot tell it's been 3D printed even holding it in your hand.

Just a thought if anyone was feeling extra. ;)
