Those flashes can be read and reflashed/programmed while incircuit, you would just need the proper clip/software/programmer to do that.

I am almost tempted to buy one of these carts to donate to someone to reverse engineer the thing and see how it works.
 
Don't get this one, those are old fashioned already. Get one of the 2-in-1 these are for sure more interesting :)
 
I recall this conversion being around before the multi region bios; pretty sure you only need that for the 2 in 1 carts.

Every normal naomi cart I've opened has a 27c322 eprom; I've looked at the data briefly and it readibly contains the game name in each region (which is part of my theory on how those 2 in 1 carts might work, put one game in each "region")

Some game data is probably in there, Dead or Alive 2 can be upgraded to millennium by swapping that one socketed eprom.

This still isn't solving the additional power requirement all DIMM based solutions need.
Remember the goal here isn't just near instant loading/switching of images, but also the ability to power the entire thing with a single (unmodified) Capcom I/O in a normal JAMMA cab.
 
Any of you guys that have these conversion carts, is there anything off with them compared to the original gdrom setup, CvS2 for example? Will it be perfect or any type of added lag from the conversion or sound issues?
 
So my Joerg multi-cart showed up in the mail today...

I'm powering it with my CPS2 supergun + Capcom IO, I don't have controls wired up just yet.
Best thing about these carts, single unmodified Capcom IO powers the entire thing (suck it GDROMs, NetDIMMs and CF-kits)!

This is beyond awesome to me...

Oh and if you can't tell from the above... The two games I picked for the multi to run, CvS2 and MvC2.

It must be Joerg's far as I know, because thats how you switch games... Dip #2 up game one, down game two.

Uh... Ok, I will. Just me some time on this request, I just screwed (M3) the cart down to the naomi motherboard.
Anyone what a free CF Kit (Werejag I'm looking in your direction buddy) just pay shipping... No joke, I'm done with DIMM trash!
