MITSU CPSIII SuperBIOS Conversion Services

Hello All !!! I am a NEWBIE here and will probably ask many questions. I purchased a SFIII-NG cabinet just for the monitor. Instead, I absolutely love the game and now I'm going to restore it!!!! I INDEED DO have the suicide battery, and it still works!!!! However, I know I'm on borrowed time....

Can one of you PLEASE take a newbie like me under your guidance and set me straight on my course here?

Basically, I'd like to eliminate the battery and the CDROM Drive.

Does anyone here have a "KIT" that I can purchase or point me in the right direction so I can save what I have?

I APPRECIATE all of you and am learning a TON here...

All the Best !!!! 20260406_154924.jpg20260406_154929.jpg20260406_154935.jpg20260406_155012.jpg20260406_155251.jpg20260406_155301.jpg

You can eliminate the battery by installing the super/ultrabios on the cart but then you would need to buy additional memory simms also. The benefit is you would be able to play any of the six cps3 games on your pcb. You can replace the cd drive with a scsi2sd device. There are several options.

Instead we could swap your cart battery and you can enjoy NG for several more years.

If money is no issue then the Ultrasimms are another option that replaces all of your memory simms and also does away with the need for the cd-rom drive.

Thanks Mitsu !!!!

I appreciate the info! I'd be interested in eliminating the battery for sure. replacing it seems counterintuitive, but then again, it's lasted 29 years.....

My CPSIII has 4 SIMMS now and I only plan on running SFIII-NG. But, If the other games are available with the upgrades, then that might be fun to play them as well. Can anyone give me a cost for these options, I'm assuming a DM for that?

I was also entertaining selling the system and ditching the cabinet as well, as it's REALLY beat up. the Monitor is good as that was the original plan, but the game sure is fun to play!

If I could have some cost options, I will most certainly use your services if I go that way.

I've been reading A LOT here and there is sooo much to learn !!!!

If you change your cart to ultrabios it then requires that your pcb has the amount of memory required for the largest game which is Third Strike. So no way to convert your cart and play NG without also buying more memory.

Thats why the battery swap makes sense to some people.

Thanks Mitsu! I understand now.
I sent a pic with the memory that I have. What Additional memory do I need AND what's the cost? I'm assuming it's almost unobtanium these days???

Sorry for the noob question I have an awesome multi that mitsu/darksoft hooked me up with years ago running with a cd rom drive. I would now like to be able to use it without that drive since I have it in Jasen’s sweet enclosure. Not sure if any devices offered here for this?
That's an AWESOME Blue and Decaled cover for your system. Did you paint it and add the decals or is the entire cover a decal?
