What's new
Searched the thread and couldn’t find anything for this:

When I hold start + right to go to the menu, after reading the filesystem it will go back to the game in slot A instead of the menu. I can’t find a way to get back to the menu and change games.

This only started happening recently, it used to work fine.

I have the latest version of the menu installed but not latest firmware. I have a MV-2F.

Has anyone run into this?

New version of firmware Released. You can get it from here:
Darksoft's MultiMVS Latest Firmware, Menu and Instructions

All know bugs have been fixed. If you see any bug it's related to NVRAM and will be fixed with next version of menu.
That means that many things have been changed, but most of them you wont notice until you install the new the menu, which will be ready in about 3 weeks.

[Changes]
* Key combination has now changed.
NOW --> 1P Start + Left will go to -1 slot less.
1P Start + Right goes to +1 slot
1P Start+Up will call the menu.
* Properly show the firmware version for FPGA and ARM.
* Properly change Region and Mode (MVS/AES).
* Fixed several situations when the game will freeze.
* Fixed that sometimes changing from SLOT 3 to SLOT 1 will have undesired behaviour.
* Automatcially copy the files of /updated/menu to /games/menu when doing a menu update.
* Added an option that can be activated from the menu so that we can switch off/on the possibility of entering into menu(For public locations)
* A special surprise that will be announced on due time together with AES version.

Once the menu is ready, the changes that you will see with the menu are:
* Region Change
* Mode Change (MVS/AES)
* Possibility to disable returning to Menu/ slot changing from Menu
* Option in the menu so that if UNIBIOS is present, we are not allowed to change REGION or Mode (MVS/AES)
* Add a screensaver or just show a logo moving to avoid Burn-in of Monitors.
* Option in the menu to automatically with each boot or manually Clear NVRAM
* Remove need to delete BUFF File.
* Add the MONITOR PATTERN/Test program in order to test the console and discard cart problems.
* Sort by directory name *OR* game name *OR* self sorted by user by editing a text file inside buff file.
* Update Game thumbnails:) :)
* Problems should now be solved with High Score saving
* Add an option to boot directly into game list (No logo and no man count down)
* Add on the bottom of some pages the possible buttons you can use on that screen, like i.e. Before A,B or C put S: for QuickLaunch.
* Allow to jump from game #0 up to last game + vice versa using left <-> right.
* Add game genre to info box on the bottom, and add genre to filtering options. I often sort my games by genre, if I'm looking for a puzzle
game or a SHMUP or a fighting game, or a run and gun It'd be nice to see a short list with just games in a particularly type. :) :)
* Show Game list according to full name and not according to MAME name.

You can try this firmware version even if you cant notice most of the features yet as it's more stable.

As you can see we are as usual relasing new firmware files as long as needed.

All nice features. I like especially the option to boot directly to menu without any countdown. Thanks, DS.

So this firmware update... fixed some of the graphical problems I was seeing on my MV-1A.

It seems like some of the glitching is gone. Did you change anything that might have caused that?

Thanks for the quick reply to my issue and thanks for the mega firmware update! A great update especially for dedicated cab owners.

I fixed many many things so I guess so.

In any case if you still have glitches it's most probably related to that solder issue with the smaller board of the cart.

Hello,

I had some problems with the fw update (MV-1C(Unibios 3.3) with HAS supergun)

- copied the new files to the update folder, turned on supergun
- "Please Wait" appeared
- plugged in my tototek PS to NeoGeo adapter (without PS controller attached)
- "adapter" released some buttons so the Unibios window popped up
- couldn't see the status message anymore(and couldn't close the unibios window because the
signals that came from the adapter also turned on the HAS button config), didn't know what was going on
- switched off supergun
- checked SD card -update files still there
- tried a normal start, "initializing filesystem" message seemed not to disappear
- switched off again, checked SD card, update files were obviously deleted by the multi
- did the Update 2 more Times, and at some point it worked again

anyway, it shows strange behaviour (I think). I can reset the menu by pressing "select",
but only ONCE... when flashing new games, "updating game settings" takes quite long, plus
I have lots of white stripes glitches (this is an example; usually they vary and move):

Seems to flash OK, but I am quite unsure if everything went fine :S

Is there something I can check by myself or do I have to send the unit over for maintenance?

I'd try to flash it again? And leave your "adapter" disconnected this time ;)

Yep.

Btw, the Adapter basically is ok,
was just my fault to not connect it before
switching on the supergun...

Hey =O

...as you might assume, I knew it's better to connect it before, but it was one of those
"hmm, should I better...? No, will work.." moments when every second counts... :whistling:

Any idea bout my case, though?

Oh, I though that problem was coming from adapter and it was already solved.

First of all, please update your profile with your approx. location.

This seems to be a problem with your setup but I can be wrong. Can you try to roll back to previous firmware version and see if that solves the problem? I'll send you a PM with it in case you dont have it.

The setup has been working quite good before (even better than with the MV-FZ1 board I think)

Darksoft, could it be that switching off the console during the 1st flashing attempt
could have corrupted some data or is that fail safe?
