Does Anyone Own a Gundhara PCB?

I don't believe mine dose ... Yours is one of a kind :D

Lets start with pictures, sorry they are in reverse order, quadrants then full board. To look at it correctly, start with the final picture and go up!

1. is that the sub board sits on top of U42 sharing it's pins
Maybe? Can you tell from the pic? I tried to wiggle it off, but couldn't do it.

2. is that there is a single fly wire from that sub-board going to U41 Pin 7
Yes (image 0338 )

3. that the NEC UPD71054 chip (U121) has pin 11 disconnected from the PCB and tied to 5V through the jumper wire on Pin 24
I don't think so (image 0347)

I'll take a look at the jumpers after dinner!

Thanks so much
For 1 it looks like its partially socketed and partially soldered and the original chip in that location is removed rather than piggybacked... I'll have to work out what that chip does and why they were able to remove it.

For 3 it does look like pin 11 is cut and then jumped to pin 24 (5v pin) but I can't tell for sure from the angle.

I should be able to work out the jumpers from these awesome pics!

I'm going to save you time looking all over my pictures, so If you have a (saved) second, can you swing by there and see if you can help? I have zero idea how to use this cheap DMM/Scope combo I picked up and I don't have that $$$$ logic analyzer that Buffi mentions, but even if I did, I have no idea how to use it to get the number's he mentions.

Oh, one more thing. Despite the hand-made kick harness, my version is the Japanese 2 button version. I think you're supposed to be able to switch regions with the dips, but my game has a problem starting (takes some resets and an increase in 5v) and moving the dips causes the crash to persists. So I can't really check it.

to be clear it's this Pin that I suspect has been cut:

it's actually not controlled by DIPs by by jumper JP6 near the JAMMA edge.

or at least that's what controls it on the production release, I don't know for sure if the prototype is the same.

that Jumper does also control the region setting for some other games too like Mad Shark and Zing Zing Zip, though on those others all it really does is change the title screen.

I'm bumping this bad boy. Did you need me to see if that pin is cut on that chip? I can't tell with my poor vision, but I can get the DMM out and listen for a beep!

I'm 99% confident it is but I wouldn't say no to 100% confidence :D
