Please keep it polite or we'll moderate.

It's the buyer responsibility to know what he's buying, but I wouldn't buy a $400 PCB that is untested.

@Darksoft he's removed the $400 'untested' Cotton. Just for future reference in case readers get confused. I made a perfectly good offer on an 'untested' board and was polite throughout the process. Nicely moderated sir.

I didn't remove it, the seller did. This was getting a bad tone that was heading to a clear conflict. You can discuss prices via DM, but not flame a sales post.
I will repeat again, it's buyer responsibility to get informed and ask to understand what he/she's buying and what is the right price for a PCB. Many untested PCBs are actually not working, and need repair, and we all know, so everyone should be aware of that.

Wasn't it the other way around? A seller has to disclosue if it is for example a Conversion or (majorly) Repaired? Also no listing faulty stuff as untested?

Claiming its solely the Buyer's responsibility to know what hes is getting will open the Door for Scamming and Bad Actors.

Important: This has nothing to do with this thread, so far as anybody can see the seller was open about what he's selling

It's both. Yes the rules state that you must disclose when the pcb is a bootleg which conversion does fall into that category technically. A repaired pcb does not need to be disclosed in the description unless the repair was for physical damage rather than a failed component. If you don't like repaired pcbs then that is something the buyer needs to ask about. I would say though that with the recent trend of replacing customs with newer modules that those obviously should be disclosed.

So yes the seller has to fairly disclose as much info as possible about what they are selling. However the buyer also needs to do their research, especially about pricing. One if the first things you learn in this hobby is that you assume untested means not working. The seller can ask whatever price they want. If you don't like it, pass. I personally wouldn't pay $400 for a possibly not working cotton pcb and rom board but some might. If only there was a s16 romboard for $245 that played every game... ;)

@westillplay looking at your post history. You’re pretty much only on here to sell. Not contribute to the forum or discussions, and that’s perfectly ok.

But if you wanna take the $ from the community, you gotta follow the rules and probably realise as in any real life situation there’s going to be difficult people to work with, sell to, or ones that you flat out can’t stand the online personas of.

There’s an ignore button, I’ve used it and maybe you should too - out of sight, out of mind :)

GLWTS.
