Hi,
just received my HAS yesterday! I'm away for work but very excited to test when I get back :-)
Very happy! Thanks RGB!

Now I just need proper RGB cable for CRT\Framemeister. ^^'
Any suggestions? Links would be very appreciated. :-)

EDIT: about power supply, I'll buy the HAPP (should work with 200v europe plug)
 
Guys, please check your email, I've just sent you the instruction manual, hope it doesn't get blocked.

Edit: This is embarrassing, the manual contained a silly mistake in the text (very important text about NOT letting your children and animals get anywhere near your arcade setup :D). I've just re-sent you the corrected manual.

Edit2: Looks like I rushed the manual, there are some other stupid grammar mistakes still there, but I hope it's more or less understandable.

Besides, is there any chance to get a HAPP supply from europe in order to get shorter delivery time?

I purchased this one comes assembled. I have not tried it yet still waiting on my HAS to arrive.

Works great, it's exactly what I was using as well with my setup.
 
@RGB question on the ps2 adapter. Would the HD retrovision ps one adapter with accompanying component cable be compatible?
 
Is it okay to have a small gap between the HD15 adapter PCB and the AUX connector? In other words, the pins don't go all the way inside the header.
Maybe I used the standoffs wrong?

Don't worry about the manual, the most important thing - at least to me :) - are the pinouts, which are super clear.

Another thing I was wondering: When making a video only cable like jassin000 suggests in the Scart cable thread (with audio on an extra cable)
do I connect Audio GND to anything on the Scart connector or not?

If I want stereo sound I have to get it from the PCB (ST-V, CPS2, Konami GX, ... I think?) or the JAMMA edge (Neo Geo), right? I would then just use an external audio attenuator instead of the one on the HAS.

Nope, I only use the SCART head for video connections (specifically Red, Green, Blue, Sync, ground with one additional ground to the cable shield).
All audio connections are passed to my OSSC via 3.5mm jack/cable.

I recommend this because I get less noise/interference this way.
With everything present in the SCART head when displaying a solid white screen I hear a slight audio hmmm.

I can't stop playing with it. Had to rush out a DB15 stick with an old Dreamcast case, it's absolutely amazing. Everything plays great, and connected to an XRGB the quality is insane. It's actually way better than, for say, Genesis or Super Famicom that are plagued with jailbars or parasite, here it's just pure and clean.

I love it, thanks Mike, you're lovely and your product is killer.



Also, for thoses wondering, it's going through the PS2 adapter. I have a RetroGamingCable PSX Csync cable and it doesn't work. However an old RGB PS2 cable is OK, so i guess the difference in specs from PS1 to PS2 is not compatible here (while it's ok on my PS2). Btw, as i don't know if this cable is CSYNC or Luma, will it hurt anything to be plug on the wrong sync type ? (but i guess it's fine as i'm on default CSYNC and i got the image)
 
Just a guess here, please confirm @RGB

If you were using a PS scart cable with built in sync attenuation, and the HAS has sync attenuation enabled, this might mean you're effectively double attenuating the sync line thus weakening the signal too much.

Could be as simple as setting the HAS to TTL sync and letting the PS cable solely attenuate the sync.

Not sure if that's what's going on so wait for RGB to explain it.
 
The adapter is for the PS2 Scart cables, those don't have any resistors and capacitors. Furthermore, the cable mustn't contain any sync "cleaning" circuitry.

There are capacitors in the PSX cable, so you'd need to bypass the ones on the HAS itself (there are jumpers for this) if you want to use this cable.

As far as I'm aware there are no resistors on the CSync line in both the PSX and PS2 cable, so it's not a matter of double attenuation. Unless the cable is improperly wired and it does use a resistor for some reason.

@Catzooo Cables wired for Sync on Luma won't hurt anything, but won't work unless you switch the position of the green jumper on the PS2 adapter.
