Taito Type X board have their own built-in power supply so I'd suspect that the normal Vewlix PSU is just designed to power the I/O board, lights and the other built-in electronics

Glad you figured it out:) Thanks for the screenshot, that is all I needed to see, a PC in that baby will be my main gaming system, type x2 will be a bonus:)

Actually its not even that advanced, which is why I believe your correct. With a X2 installed and powered from the internal a/c outlet, the PSU board literally powers nothing!
I totally removed it last night, its only connection to the cab is the 2-pin isolation transformer lead it receives power thru.

Ok, so I cleaned out the cab inside and out, this thing is super easy to take apart and clean completely.

I installed my TTX2 with multi SSD thanks to Niko and it was instant awesomeness. I love this cab. My wife that does not really like gaming even jumped in.

My son jumped right in and started playing BB

Glad to hear that the Vewlix FC is Wife compatible, now I know that I will have no funny looks from my significant other when my Vewlix arrives;)
 
I still need to do some more testing (and likely a quality recap), but I believe the problem with the Taito Vewlix power supply has been identified...

That is a Simran 500Watt step up/down transformer, on sale at Amazon.com for 40$ shipped.
It seems that the Vewlix PSU is so sensitive that putting anything greater then 100v into it causes it to malfunction.
Again I'm going to do more testing before I can say beyond a doubt that this the solution... But its looking very likely at this point.
 
My unit shipped yesterday, Monday... now the wait begins.. I will pray to Jebus every night that the shipping company do not F up the unit.. Jebus, please:)

Thats nice he put the CP in the upright position for shipping.
Mine wasn't, the entire time I was afraid it would get f'd up (thankfully that didn't happen).

I only ended up with minor damage to that one left leg leveler from shipping.

@Derick: Did you have any noticeable shipping damage on yours?

P.S. Check out that Darius Burst in the background? *drool*
 
@SNK-NEO-GEO congrats man, you are gonna love it.

I spoke with KC today, he will ship my other FC cab I had reserved with him a while back on thursday. He told me he sold the last FC he had, so he is out of these for now.

I had no damage whatsoever on mine, pristine as can be for a used cab. Only one of the side decals has a few small marks on it. I wonder if Taito sells replacement decals?
 
Derick - make sure that you do not get the cab that has a little scratch on the upper left hand side. If you look close to the feet you can see rust on both sides. I passed on that one because of the rust and pick the other cab with a scratch on the lower left hand side. When I perform Face time I ask KC about it and he said that it was a bit of rust. hopefully that is not the cab that you have picked or that he is shipping me because I clearly said that I did not want that cab.

No worries, he had reserved my cab a few weeks ago. I called him today about a pacman battle royale cab he has. He told me he sold the last C cab he had, which is the one you have pictured.
 
Huston we have a problem..
Paid KC on feb 16th in full. Was told that the cab was going to shipped on two days after payment and that it was going to ship on the 22nd.. Today request tracking and phone numbers for the shipping company. Was asked to call, cab has not been shipped, was given a story about the wherehouse land lord locking the place, was asked to give KC a couple of days, I ask how long is a couple of days, the replay a week. I asked for my money to be transferred back to my account ASAP.. I do not like this situation at all.
 
He said that he will refound the money back today or tomorrow. Let's hope that there are no issues and I get the full refund.

Yea please keep us posted with all the latest, I didn't expect this at all.
