Congrats on getting the cab, you are going to love it. The cabs do have little nicks here and there but nothing incredibly noticeable. Just give it a good cleaning/polish and you are good to go.

I am waiting to see how the how the official Jamma to JVS adapter/scaler performs once Jassin gets his and installs it before getting one.

For the tubular locks, I think 5/8" long ones will work, but will let Jassin verify which he gets. I still havent ordered anything extra for the cab; I am still hunting down a 2P panel.

Crimzon Clover!!!

the internet need more photos of games on a Vewlix

what are you planning to play on them?
My TTX2 has BlazBlue CS, but now that I got a multi SSD from Niko, will be playing Crimzon Clover and SFIV-AE for sure.

Derick,
I will be playing ST4.. I was devastated by the review on SF5, what a shame no local story mode play at this time, the game is a demo and not a complete demo at all.. I will just put a Taito Type X2 with a mull and a PC just for fighting games. The Jamma games I see no need because of the LCD on the Vewlix so I will keep playing those on the Egreets, I am a CRT lover:).

We need to find some arts for the plexiglass:) also can you point me to the correct push buttons that I need to buy and the top for the joystick.. I want to have all red buttons and top:)

This is why I hate the post office...

See that package they've had since Saturday the 13th that was sent 2-Day Priority? That's my JAMMA Kit! X(

They do that to me all the time. I also love that the mailman leaves the packages between 7-9pm most of the time, so my packages will sit overnight on my porch.

it's gotta be the local office, I get most of my stuff sent USPS and it's very rare that I run into problems with them...

Buttons and Joysticks should be from Sanwa. If you have anywhere to try buttons and joysticks out, do that first. Some people prefer Seimitsu others Sanwa. Both brands should fit. I already have a lot of new Sanwa joysticks and buttons so I will be using those as replacements. Once I do I can give you specifics.

But basically you would need the following:

1x Sanwa LB-35 Balltop ( I would personally replace the whole joystick)
7x Sanwa OBSF 30mm Buttons
1x Sanwa OBSF 24mm Button

I personally like ordering my buttons and sticks from focusattack.com but there are many other good sites that carry them.

My opinion of the sticks.... I feel like SHMUP people tend to prefer Seimitsu and fighting game people prefer Sanwa. Personally I use Sanwa JLF with a heavier spring and over-sized actuator, this means that the joystick moves less but it's harder to move and gives an over all "heavier" feel. but a very small dead-zone. Just my personal preference... there are many many options for customizing and changing the functionality of these sticks.

I like FA too, they have decent prices and ship quickly. You customized your JLF just they way I do, the small dead zone is golden, just the way I like it.

BTW - I like your deconversion/restoration of your KI2 cab, it came out mint.

Despite some minor shipping delays in the past, Focus Attack is the place to get sticks/buttons.

Do you have a guide as to how this is done and which spring to get. I usually buy the Sanwa like what Krylix recommends on his build and use them as is.. II checked FA and they are out of the one that I want, dark red with black.. Thanks for the FA recommendations.

Well the sound is currently a problem, but take a look at my first JAMMA board running inside (well sotra next to) the Vewlix C!

no real guide necessary, just buy the parts here: http://www.focusattack.com/controls/joysticks/joystick-accessories/performance-mods/

then take apart the stick and re-assemble it using the new parts.

EDIT: actually looking at the site FA now lets you specify if you want the heavier spring and oversized actuator when you order the stick: http://www.focusattack.com/sanwa-jlf-tp-8yt-joystick/

sounds like you'll still have to install it yourself but you can save a few cents .

I have heard something like that when the NeoGeo board is not 100% Jamma and you need a Jamma to NEOGEO adapter. If your board is 100% please disregard what I just said:)

you are correct. Neo Geo MVS uses a non-standard JAMMA pinout with the audio wiring being the most problematic difference:

I would not recommend plugging an MVS board into a normal JAMMA setup without dealing with the differences first.

I found the problem... Its the 12v line of the Vewlix PSU!

The JVS-to-JAMMA board draws power in addition to the JAMMA board, the result is a strain on the 12v line to the point where it starts to drop out.

I wasn't able to detect the problem until I installed my CPS2 board... Then I noticed right away, the CPS2 cooling fan was pulsing (on/off/on/off) in time with the thump thump sound.
So with the cab powered on and the board connected (yes I'm aware this is NOT recommended) I adjusted the 12v pot slightly... Soon as I gave it a little tweak, bam!
Fan spun up into high gear, the audio thumping stopped completely!

Now its important to note, this only solved the audio/voltage problem on the CPS2... CPS1 and Neo-Geo still have the issue.
I believe this is because CPS1 and Neo have on-board sound amps that are drawing power above and beyond what CPS2 uses.
The poor Vewlix PSU is pushed to the max on 12v, I simply can't adjust it any higher without triggering the auto-shutdown (protection for over voltage).

So last night I ordered the granddaddy of all JVS PSUs... A Sun!

I will keep you updated, and I will put up another proper video of the CPS2 working perfectly inside.

I wanted to share this image for SNK-NEO-GEO...

So we are looking inside the back LCD monitor hatch, see the grey DVI-to-HDMI adapter I installed?
Confirmed by my xRGB mini, the DVI port is full digital (DVI-D) and behaves just like a PC monitor in terms of resolution (basically anything common between 640x480~1360x768).
