What's new
Just wanted to say, your write up was great. After screwing up my first attempt soldering THS7374 a year ago I finally got around to trying this again but with the solder paste method and it worked out perfectly. One question I had was on the aliexpress x2.54 crimping tool you bought will that work on the hirose pins also? I'd like to give creating the kick harness a try.
Ha! That thing - those Hirose pins are DF1B which you can read about here

Hirose do make a specific crimp tool for those pins, which costs over $US700. So I've been using Harwin Z20-320 which is designed for M20 pins (and also costs moonbeams) and does a good job

They have all the tools to make astonishingly high quality gear

Built my own @Frank_fjs Arcade-Projects Jamma extension cable ... and if I have to be honest... it's really expensive to put together for what it is. You could probably rewire a cab for less than the cost of all the manufacturing, parts, and shipping costs combined.

I also hate the inverted look. I built it to possibly build off it for another project, but I really don't like it or how much I spent just to put a single unit together.
