What's new
It's dead simple. Five wires from the programmer to the cart, unzip one small program, put in two lines in command prompt, and press enter. Wait about 6 seconds. Sometimes you have to install a driver. And would save the international shipping costs.

I sure don't mind doing it, but I know international shipping is awful.

The FT232H is cheaper/easier. Don't have to power the board separately, you don't have to mess with quartus, and don't cost a few hundred bucks.

I am up for the challenge, I will get one of these ordered and get back to you.

Cheers 😊

Lots of no reply folks off the waitlist. Only have so many carts I can provide myself, so maybe that's a good thing. Going to give it another day or two and then message everyone left on the list and they'll be sold in first-reply/paid first-served order for those folks. About two weeks or so from now and I'll just list them for sale if there are any left.

That being said, if you have your own cart you'd like modified, hit me up over here:

Hi rewrite,

Appreciate am late to the party, so possibly a long shot, but if still open, please would you add me to the waitlist? Just discovered the NG MVS system and currently building my platform up so looking to expand my current collection of 2 OG carts, some of the titles are a bit out my price range so the multicart seems a good halfway house to scratch the itch of the more rarer ones.

I'd definitely be up for adding XenoCrisis (you purchase, I pay uplift cost option) if still available.

Full disclosure, I have also put my name down on Darksoft's cart, but I do intend on having more than one MVS system (already parts on order), and that one looks a little way off anyway.

Anyway, thank you in advance for your consideration.

-A

Everyone above @VS City on my list will ship out tomorrow. I've run out of boxes, so while I wait for those to come in I'll catch up on some more carts, and hopefully be done with the current list (and have a final count of multis I can provide without donors) by week's end.

Hello Ryan,

Parts have arrived, just about ready to have a go at doing this. What do I need to do? Thanks

What do I need to do?

Download that file.

Download openocd https://openocd.org/

Put that file into the bin directory

Attach your 5 wires to
AD0, AD1, AD2, AD3, +3.3V and GND on the FT2322H

Attach them to the JTAG header next to CP1 CPLD on the PROG board.

Navigate to the correct folder in command prompt (the bin folder inside openocd's folder).

openocd -f C:/openocd/share/openocd/scripts/interface/ftdi/um232h.cfg -c "adapter speed 400" -c "transport select jtag" -c init -c "svf prog_cp1.svf" -c shutdown

That will work 1:1 if you put openocd's folder at the root of C:\ . If you put it elsewhere you'll have to change the directory to match.

It takes about 7 seconds. I've been using pogo pins and just holding them there.

Adrian V sent me money this afternoon, but I don't know who you are on here Adrian! Please send me a PM with your address!

Got this solved!

*Supposedly* this seller has carts available still at a normal price. I haven't ordered any, but a gent over in the RE thread said they have them. So if you want a cart and don't have a donor, it's worth reaching out to them!

I think that one is for bulk ordering or am I missing something?

I’ve had a mixed bag of experience ordering off Alibaba, haven’t ordered from this seller specifically so your mileage may vary :)
My general impression is that it’s very much intended for bulk orders, so the “online retail” experience isn’t there.
Some sellers have very large minimum order quantities (MOQ) and sometimes the MOQ isn’t accurately shown, or the price is for a larger MOQ.
I had a series of emails back and forth to get MOQ, price and availability, shipping costs, payment methods and etc agreed. Payment was via PayPal in my cases.
One seller shipped via DHL with full DHL tracking, arrived fast and exactly as described. The other order was for ill fated CPLD chips which had sold out while I was negotiating for them, the seller eventually provided a full refund.

I've had some luck asking for a sample when I wanted to order just one of something. They will send you endless messages for months after about the rest of your order, but uh, it works most of the time!

After last round and taking so long to get my money back I'm not terribly interested in bulk buying to keep doing these, but I'm very happy to do them with a provided cart, so if I see anyone's mentioned that they can get them somewhere I'm just going to share what info I've gained.

Yeah, Im not super 100% concerned if they dont sell it but if they do, I'll fire it off to you with payment. I owe ya that much, Ryan.

More than likely they will let you order online, then an email will be sent that its out of stock and you'll get a refund. Not sure why they even make it available to buy. With demand these carts are around $250 or so now.

Likely. That's always annoyed me about places that do that.

"HEY!! We got this for sale!"

(but its not in stock)

OR the one that really burns my ass is "where can I stream show/movie X" and you get Amazon/Hulu "HEY YO!! You wanna watch that movie/show!? DUDE BRO, WATCH IT ON HULU/PRIME!!!"

(content not available or "buy it for 8.99)

maaaaan 'koutta here with that
