APOCALYPSE M92 Multi Installation and Support

LT not booting.

You should still have sound. Id check to make sure the sound daughtercard is installed correctly and that the ribbon cables and slots are clean.

A pic of your gfx issues would help determine rhst cause.

I checked sound daughterboard connection and reattached all the ribbon cables one more time. To my eyes everything is installed according to instructions.

After the process above there's still no sign of sound but I didn't encounter graphical glitches anymore. I took few pictures when I was at it.

Sound flash is oriented correctly and programmed ok?

You can remove the sound flash and inspect the solder on both the module and the multi connectors.

I dont think you have any issue with the daughtercards. I would have been able to test the ones you received here. Did you try cleaning the ribbon connectors really good with alcohol or a sonic cleaner? Flux in the connector can cause this issue.

Whats interesting is that your donor is Lethal Thunder but its a different romboard than the one I have here.

This is solder side of sound EPROM socket in multi board. Could that tiny bit of excess solder on top of via be the cause of sound problem?

The eprom socket is ok. But looking at the ribbon connector is that a solder bridge or a piece of fuzz?

@Decoryah, have you moved the jumpers (J1 & J2) next to the sound CPU from S to N position?
If so then I'm suspecting a bad ROM 08.

Also we've just discovered Thunder Blaster didn't work on a Thunder Blaster donor, which inded is a bit ironic.
What is really weird is Lethal Thunder (world version of the game) works fine on a Thunder Blaster donor.
Maybe stick to that version while we're investigating.

[EDIT]
Actually all romsets work on the multi with any donor. The problem seems to come from the rom generator tool. Everything works with the script that was written during development.

Here's a picture of my jumpers. Both J1 and J2 are on N. I also switched sound EPROM to newly programmed one. Still no sound.

Then it can only be a connection problem, the sound ROM is simply banked on its higher address lines with the dipswitches, no logic involved.
How's the FFC connector on the sound daughterboard?

Sound daughterboard connection to the ROM board seems fine to me. Pictures of that in above posts. I took few more pictures of sound daughterboard. I also switched another FFC cable in for test but it didn't help.

Btw I just tested Thunder Blaster board in it’s original configuration and it’s confirmed that everything is working. Sound is fine too.

By doing that I accidentally bent and broke 2 pins from FIX daughterboard so gotta figure out next how to repair that ?(

Hey all. Thought I'd first try installing the multi on my Korean board. I've got the ROM chips removed and now I'm on the step where I need to use the table to identify what ROM board I have, however my ROM board doesn't seem to have any identifiers similar to my OEM M92 ROM board.

Does anybody happen to know which line on the table applies to this Korean board?
