MiSTerAddons MiSTercade - MiSTer for JAMMA cabinets

Do you have the control files for the MiSTercade installed on your SD card from https://github.com/misteraddons/mistercade_v2_mappings

Also, does your MiSTercade V2 have the OLED display? If so, does it show Button 1 being pressed on the display?

oh man - this is so cool - its making me want to upgrade my mistercadev1 now :)

Ok once the video be uploaded to youtube I'll send the link
and I did talk to the support of mistercade and we are troubleshooting for 3 days and still did not find solution so that's why I try to ask here.

On my v1 mistercade my b4 on player 1 stopped working entirely. Turns out the little microcontroller(?) died on the pcb. Porkchop fixed it and I'm still using it. Might not be anything you're doing or a configuration thing.

Ok
who is Porkchop?
and yeh, I'll need to check again all the wiring and make sure there's no issue before I try to fix something

Mister addons himself, creator of the mistercade.
I see.
he is a very nice guy and he gave me some assignments and thing I need to check and If something is damage he offered to fix it. the thing is I live in Israel so there is no shipping as of yet and even when there is it'll take at least 2 months and some costly price to just send it to him and pay shipping back. so I do hope we find a solution that I can do myself.

Yeah, he's a good dude. Sounds like my interaction with him regarding my mistercade. Shipping wise that's logistically tough. Hopefully you can get it sorted, best of luck bud!

Hi, relatively new to all this mistercade stuff. Picked up a 2.1 recently & picked up a "VS" kit. Step 1 is to replace ur mistecades XL pcb with the one provided but I'm not really understanding what that means. Is there a video around of a walk through of what u need to do?

Hi, I have an issue with my current setup (MiSTercade V1.3 on a New Astro City cabinet) when I try to play Sega System 16 games I'm unable to put a credit in all of the games supported by the core (I'm using the coin chute so no remote). All other cores seems to be working fine (even the other ones from Jotego like the CPS1/2).

I decided to update the MiSTercade firmware to the 2025 version to see if it would fix the problem but even after the update was done I could not play these games. I have a "regular" MiSTer setup (MiSTer bundle from misteraddons) and everything is OK with it when running the S16 core (obviously using a button combination to add credits in this case).

Has anyone face a similar problem ?

Hello there,

on my mistercade v1.3 the osd menu shortcut (down+start) stopped working. I havent played on it for a while (its summer), but i did a Mister FW update, i guess since that it's no more working.
could this be related with the link to the blog one page earlier?
im not sure if this completly jotego related, as there is a new mappign "system" as it seems.
i have a 2 player anel so i guess i would need to add
  • V1.X Non-Twinstick (2025)
to my ini, as i do not want freeplay? the non-twinstick part here is what confuses me.
Also he is talking about V1.0, V1.1, and V1.2 but not 1.3 on the other hand the update is called V1.X, either he has forgotten to list that version or it isn't for it, which i don't believe would be correct.
Thanks in advance!

Have you tried just remapping it yourself under 'define Joystick and buttons'?

You can set any button combination you want as the OSD menu shortcut.

Hi o1s1n,
i wasn't aware that in the menu one can make combo valid, i was assuming it jumps to the next input selection when u hit a button.
So a combo would be possible by holding the first input then press the 2nd and release em together?

In the meantime mistercade himself replied to an e-mail i wrote, here's what he stated:

About the OSD MENU
OSD combo got purged
as many users complied about it. (cant think of a situation where down and then start (thats the on i'm using) is a problem...)
I still had the zips with the mapings laying around, so i was lucky to copy/overwrite the current file.
Works. :)

About the 1.X FW update:
Yes, this is valid also for v1.3, hence my assumption he just forgot to list it is correct.

You can't bind the MiSTercade Menu control shortcut in "Define Joystick and Buttons" - the shortcut is determined by the mapping file you use.

For MiSTercade V1, if you want to use Down + Start as the Menu shortcut, download this ZIP file and extract the contents into the "inputs" folder on your SD card, overwriting existing files:
https://github.com/misteraddons/MiSTercadeV1/blob/main/config/inputs/_main_mapping_down+start=menu.zip

Other Menu control shortcut options include:
- Button 1 + Button 6
https://github.com/misteraddons/MiSTercadeV1/blob/main/config/inputs/_main_mapping_b1+b6=menu.zip

- Button 3 + Button 5
https://github.com/misteraddons/MiSTercadeV1/blob/main/config/inputs/_main_mapping_b3+b5=menu.zip

- Start + Coin
https://github.com/misteraddons/MiSTercadeV1/blob/main/config/inputs/_main_mapping_coin+start=menu.zip

- Down + Coin
https://github.com/misteraddons/MiSTercadeV1/blob/main/config/inputs/_main_mapping_down+coin=menu.zip

- Menu Shortcut Disabled
https://github.com/misteraddons/MiSTercadeV1/blob/main/config/inputs/_main_mapping_no_menu.zip

When you go to 'define stick and buttons' and get to setting the 'menu' button, it says 'can use two button combo' as per my below photo.

Press the two buttons together at the same time and that is now your combo for the menu.

That's how I've always done it anyway, never downloaded one of those packs you mentioned. Perhaps I'm using an older iteration.
