What's new
are you going to keep the GDROm reader in there? I would move all of that to a compact flash inside the unit, frees up space and you aren't running your motor down on that GDROM.

And yes, the forcefeedback is definitely different between the games!

I'm probably gonna get Netboot going in this thing at some point, wanted to see if I can get the GD-Rom to work first, more for my self interest. Plus I just like collecting physical copies of games.

Sure here you go

Bad news on this front. I couldn't find the manual - but I did find my WMMT2 card reader that I used for years.... attached are pictures.... connector on the right (red/green/white) - these are the serial connection to the Chihiro. Back of the unit, yellow is 24v, black is ground, the smaller plug - red is 5v and black is ground, and the green is a chassis ground.

I am *thinking* that maybe the card reader you got is a) not for WMMT2 or b) there were multiple card readers for it?

Matt

I believe the one I have here is for Mario Kart, although I believe both should be fine right?

Wait a sec, now that I'm actually taking a good look at it I don't think this is the right card reader at all lmao. I don't even know what this is for lol. Classic Yaton.

I used the same one for Mario Kart and for WMMT2 - yours is different.
Yeah he straight up sent me the wrong card reader, it doesn't even look like the one that was in the listing, does anyone know what game this card reader is for?

like you said, classic Yaton, but at least he's a known quantity and will make it right.
We'll see, I know this guy has a very mixed reception at best, but I wanted to give him a fair shot since he has alot of hard to find stuff at fair prices. But so far what I got was an N2 that lasted for 5 days and 2 junk N2 motherboards that didn't work, And now this. Hopefully I don't have to message him too many times cause he can be a pain to get ahold of.

Did some digging around and looks like this one is for Initial D

Not sure if this helps at all? https://derole.co.uk/arcadedocs/Chi...angan_Midnight_Maximum_Tune_-_2004_-_Sega.pdf

Its maxi tune 1 manual for the weird 2-player EU wooden cabs we got here, wiring may well have similarities though?

(Noticed a potential mistake, TxD and RxD arent crossed over in the manual here for the card reader, pretty certain this isnt correct?)

yeah - this for sure looks like the same:

Regarding the TX/RX not being crossed - luckily its just two ways - one will work, the other won't. I don't remember if I had then crossed over or not. Generally - I would always cross them over when trying.

Yaton got back to me, looks like he's gonna send me 2 more motherboards (don't have much faith in them ngl). And he wants me to store this card reader until someone else buys it? Very unique individual lol.

If your familiar with my luck around here your probably aware I'm not allowed to have things easy. I tried playing it again tonight and for some reason the game isn't booting past this screen now. Usually it would boot once the other ID's went to "error" but now's it's just staying here. I can go back to the test menu but it'll stop in the same spot again and won't get past it. It doesn't freeze or anything it just doesn't start the game.

Well yeah - you are right - I haven't run into that before.... I would try to move to compact flash as quickly as possible so that you don't have to deal with potentially flake read into RAM from the GDROM.

If it was the GDrom drive shouldn't it not have gone past the game test phase?
