Naomi game marquee question

Sorry in advance if this if the wrong play to ask this, but I figured this group might be the most knowledgeable about this subject.


I have this Street Fight Zero 3 upper marquee that I’m sure is real based on the print dot patterns under magnification. But it has this odd layer of plastic fixed to it. This is the only Naomi game marquee I own when searching I really only find folks selling reproductions.

Is this layer of plastic normal for these?

Looks like a protective layer to me.

I own some original marquees, but I've never owned a NOS one, so I can't say for sure if that's how they came new.

I have the same on a NOS Virtua Tennis 3 marquee but it is colored blue. Therefor pretty sure it's just a protection to be removed before adding to marquee holder.

do you guys know if the cabs these fit in had a protective layer over the marquee art? like a hard plastic? or once you set these in place the marquee art is out in the open, just held in place by the body of the marquee holder??

On the Naomis they are protected behind some plastic.
