Naomi Gd-Rom Backups to CF

So I'm getting the parts to try to get my games on cf cards.

Question is, can I just use MAME roms on the cf cards? Or are there special roms used to do this?
Again I'm only talking about getting the MAME roms for the gd-roms I already have.

I know there are some specific roms which have been patched to work with the cf cards, but for the vast majority of roms, are they the same as MAME?

Most GD-ROM images are dumped and in MAME here is the process to convert a .chd image to back into GDI format.

Tools used:
. GDROM-Explorer (1.6.3)
. chdman (0.165 or later)
. picinfo (1.00)

From CHD
========
>chdman extractcd -f -i gdl-0005.chd -o game.gdi -ob game.bin

This will create 4 files:

game.gdi
game.gdi01.bin
game.gdi02.raw
game.gdi03.bin

Load game.gdi from GDROM-Explorer and select the High Density track.

From GDI
========
Load game.gdi from GDROM-Explorer and select the High Density track.

Game Image Decryption
=====================
Use GDROM-Explorer to decrypt the game image. This requires the DES key.

Or if you have the PIC image:

DES key : 4929912902e32c4f

Select the High Density track and right click on the game image.
In this case the name of the game image is: IDOLSS.BIN

Right click and select: "Decrypt and Extract"
Enter the DES key when prompted, save the decrypted image.
