Since I no longer have an horizontal cab, I have the MVS in the "Supergun Rack" and the AES in the "Console Rack".. that's unarguably the best option :)

I would say that AES+THS1734 gives you better quality than stock MVS (but differences are not so radical)

AES need to be modified so or so, switchless Unibios is *today* a must have, so the RGB Bypass is not so much a significant additional effort.

ps- not all AES need to be modified, some revisions offer optimum RGB quality in stock form.
 
Hey there,just wondering that darksoft's aes sd cart is fully compatible with any of the uni bios chips? Sorry if its a silly question but im new here and just hanging out to get one of these

Only the MVS cart has been officially announced and demonstrated so far - AES will come sometime soon after the MVS release. But Darksoft has said that they are UniBIOS compatible.
 
Thats a total bummer. Thought AES and MVS were releasing simultaneously. @Darksoft can you give some idea of the plan for the AES version? I realize how dangerous it would be to commit to a specific date for either but are we talking weeks or months between the MVS and AES versions?

Think of it this way: he's working out all of the kinks out on the MVS, so it will be perfect for the AES!

I think once the MVS is released, and there are no hiccups along the way, the AES shouldn't be too far behind.

That is actually a good thing - for me anyway - as I've just managed to get hold of an AES after trying to find one for ages at a sensible(ish) price, and could do with a little extra time to gather more funds. I need a cheaper hobby - so the misses tells me!

Hey Guys - an update would be awesome. I don't think anyone minds waiting however long it takes to make it right. More about expectations right now... Seemed like there was clear path to pre-orders back in the first week of March.
It would be great to hear a realistic (albeit understanding that unexpected things happen) time frame to expect pre-orders and then release.

I'm pretty sure DS and Mitsu just sit around doing nothing until we come in here and remind them to finish. [/sarcasm]

I understand what you mean and I'm the #1 interested on starting sales. The kit worked pretty well except in some motherboards, so we had to search for the reason and be sure that it was software related and not hardware related. 2 days ago we got it working in 4 slot PCB with some minor glitches, so we'll make some more testing, to make sure we deliver a good working product and then open presales.

I'd like to open presales tomorrow but I don't want to ship something that has to be called back for whatever reason. Actually 1st batch will be like 100 units and I'll wait to get your feedback before going further.

I hope this sounds reasonable for all of you. We want this to be a pleasure not a pain :)
