NO MORE PESKY MEMORY CHECKINGS ON NETDIMM !!!!

@mathieulh understood, as was mentioned earlier - lang.barrier is the problem, I usually share some new interesting findings to tech skilled folks and that all, for me it is painful and takes much time to write large "cool stories" in English targeted for wide/dummy audience, so I do it in very rare cases only.

I only own a Naomi as of a week ago
I don't own NAOMI, never had, not really interested to have one.

just loaded this into my implementation (rpi version). Worked great, thanks! Netbooting on my setup is still touchy but it sure is nice to be scoring infinity points in gigawing2 in half the boot time.

I don't want to put oil on the fire, but when I asked for the gaelco atv track emulator sources a while ago, I didn't got much response. I explained that the idea was to replace the original hardware as it becomes unreliable due to dying flash memory chips used to store the game. If there are specific reasons not to share the sources like an agreement with the rest of the devel team, I can understand, but it would be nice to know.

On the other hand, isn't it by sharing that things can be improved?

@obcd why going so offtopic ? in short - Demul team doesn't want theirs emulator to be used in "Pandora Box"-ex and similar bootleg multi-game products, or any other kind of "real" arcade machines. it is free toy for regular PCs, nothing more, this is our standpoint.
to my knowledge, Elsemi doesn't share his Model2 etc emulators code for the same reason, so such developer's point of view not something unusual but more-less common.

I never got that answer
So now I know it's a dead end and the real hardware will likely end up as scrap metal.
It's sad, but I respect the dev team descision.

This is super cool! Thank you to everyone who made this possible!

But as a rule I could never do what you do for work (code) because I don't actually believe its work at all.
Thats not a personal attack, or an attempt to belittle you or how you make a living...
Its my own view point on just what constitutes work.

I'm in hardware, and yea I think that makes me hot shit... Because without me you've got nothing to run your precious code on.
Again, PoV is everything. I say if its not a physical object you can't own it, pure and simple.
I think people may have missed this one because it was right before the page break.

You can say it isn't an attack, or an attempt to belittle, but that doesn't change the fact that this is absolutely a belittling thing to write and post.

Without code your hardware is 100% useless in this world. Think about that before opening your mouth and degrading other ppl's professions. The professions that supply your paycheck.

Honestly wasn't the intention. I wasn't trying to be sneaky and lay something between the lines here, so I even acknowledged it.
We are different people with very different view points was my point.
Think about that before opening your mouth and degrading other ppl's professions.
So I'm not allow to express my PoV that ownership of an idea is wrong?
If it calls into question the profession of people who make a living this way?

In my very narrow view, only physical work and physical objects can be purchased and sold...
Thank god this world is populated with more/different people then me, wouldn't you agree?

Oh also just because it made my chuckle... My mouth WAS closed, when I TYPED that. :D
The professions that supply your paycheck.
Indeed they do, we can't make this 5G shit fast enough. *shrug*

Well go ahead... The both of you down vote this post (I support your freedom to not like anything I've said now and forever)!

thanks to the people that have implemented this.

I've just downloaded chunksin's latest image and will look at using it on the weekend.

I would say that some opinions are best left unsaid. I have no issues with your POV on ownership of an idea, that was until you started to degrade a profession and boast yours. Especially when both are required to operate.

Just like you have made many decisions to move some your stuff towards emulation, multis, and everdrives on many of your platforms instead of original physical. All of which, contain someone's code to run and give you more options and/or conveniences. This is exactly why I only quoted that specific part of your post. It was completely unnecessary and poor taste man.

as I've read in various press, one guy said back in 1980x something like "Software is big and valuable thing and really matters. Hardware ? not really", and of course, he was laughed back then.
now that guy, Bill Gates, is multi-billionare, and I'll better listen to his words than someone else's, like @jassin000 ;)

Either way, this is good stuff. Thanks all!

I just got parts for PiDimBoot. Anyone know how to implement this line of code into PiDimBoot? Or do we have to wait for an updated image to be compiled?

Looking forward to trying this extra bit of code out soon. Hopefully this weekend if I get around to cleaning the place up.

I was trying to illustrate in a overblown and in my mind comical way that...
  1. everyone thinks what they do is special because of X
  2. yea MAYBE we DO need each other, and a "healthy" viewpoint lies someplace between Jassin NO IDEAS FOR PROFIT EVER and @MetalliC 's suggestion (because he never actually said it) PIRACY IS BAD MMMKAY
now that guy, Bill Gates, is multi-billionare
You know what I like about Bill?
While I don't agree with how he made his billions... At least he is giving some back, and trying to do what he thinks will help the world.

What's Jeff Bezos doing with his 200 billion?

I'm also into hardware too but suck at coding. I ended up working with actual arcade machines/parts and repairs for this reason. Heck, I don't regret working on both my Time Crisis 2 and Motocross Go machines to this very day. The way you bully people with ideals of hardware being just as important as software doesn't seem right to me.
