I’m very interested in this for my 31k-only Naomi Universal!

I’ve been using my OSSC for the time being, and would love to allocate that back to my plasma.

Are you accepting pre-orders at this point?
 
Small update, got this box today :D Did a quick smoke-test, and seems everything is ok - it's been quite the journey to get to this point.

Firmware is not shippable yet, but give it a month+ and these should be up for sale :)

Really tempting thingy as I have unused 31kHz arcade display in storage.

Have you tested this scaler with X68000 computer? It's natively tri-mode computer and can output 15, 24 and 31kHz signal.

Do not have access to an X68000, but it should work fine. It can be configured for 75Ohm RGB, and also handles C + H/V sync on input automatically.

It will have the option to do analog bypass when input signal is 31k, and upscale when input signal is 15k. It won't help much with 24k - at least not in the foreseeable future.

So in theory, you should be able to place the scaler in-line with the video signal to 31K, and have it only upscale when the X68000 is in 15khz mode.
 
How fast the scaler itself does this change between scaling modes? Counted in few or dozens of milliseconds or in seconds?
 
Pardon a Newbie asking some Newbie question

How can i hook my HAS to this ?

Is it possible to hook the HAS to this ?

What kind of a monitor do i need ?

Does this have hdmi out ?
 
Getting closer :D - I actually had acrylics made for the standard sandwich, but decided to level-up and go with an aluminium enclosure. My only concern is that the LED's won't be very visible, but hopefully it will be good enough - I should be getting pictures of everything assembled shortly.

It's a work-in-progress, and I presume it also involves the actual monitor you hook up to the scaler as it has to sync up too. This video is from last year,

I can't say now how it will be when shipped, there is still quite a bit of testing to be done.
 
Yes, it's true that monitor syncing is also involved (and some of them are really terrible in this!). However, this is another thing to worry about, and I have some ideas how to cope with that.

Took a look on the video - this seems to be a test for scaler output change (does not look too bad). I tried to ask however how fast it would react to input change "on the fly", like 15kHz change to 31kHz or vice versa?
 
The video shows 'on-the-fly' input change from interlace to non-interlace, i.e. a 'mode change'. 31khz would enable analog pass-through, so could be almost instantaneous. I'm going to do some tests and get actual numbers on how quickly it can sync up once things are starting to get ready.
 
Enclosures in da house! :) Small but welcome detail is that they powder coated the end plates after cutting. The bootloader and firmware update part is pretty much done. Will do a bit more testing and cleanup on the first-ship firmware. but I think it should be out in a few weeks from now.

OMG, i'm so glad to see this project going on !

Def gonna get one for my NUC along with a jammafier :)
