Sega Megalo 410

I might want the dimensions of the glass I could get it cut. Mine is all splochy. So it shows on screen and looks horrible. Reminds me of that fake mirror finish from 70s and 80s that's just a film. It tarnished from old age or moisture.

Oh so you already have a mirror? I just bought a cheap glass one from the hardware store, used the mount as a reference and just cut to that size, easy to do with the cutter just score a line and snap it off although wear gloves/mask obvsiously.

I have acquired 8bitforlife's megalo 410 and will be slowly restoring it.. and when I say slowly, I mean SLOWLY.

If anyone has spare parts or leads on parts please let me know. It's been gutted, so nearly everything will be needed. :(

also, fun note. The one I acquired from eightbitlife was once owned by the original poster of this thread.

the one with the SF4 marquee.

and it's still as gutted, if not more. :P

My megalo is missing a screen because a 32" LCD TV was mounted inside (lol) and I'm thinking of using an LCD projector for it. What kind of screen material would I need to use for a rear projection replacement?

you can use the fresnel screen and lenticular sheet that comes with rear projection lcd tv's or just rear projection film.

I managed to get my hands on the manual for this cabinet! Sega Part # 420-6222.

Good: It has wiring Diagrams
Bad: it does not have the exploded view/part number section. It's possible that was a separate manual.

So. I’m trying to basically rebuild my gutted cabinet. The manual states that the PSU is a combination PSU/amp, model number 400-5326. I’ve not been able to find one.. however the blast city PSU model # is 400-5325… I’m pretty sure that the PSU for this cab is just a re-cased blast PSU… which basically is a recased nvs-4k 🤣🤣

I would love to see the manual as well

Yaton delivers!

This is the full harness between the CP and the PSU, which also includes the blast IO board. I also have the vs video amp, however I’ll be using that in my blast for the time being.

This, combined with a PSU made for a Harley Davidson cab, a Naomi stereo amp, and some custom wiring adapters should get the cabinet *at least* powering up. The solution I have for video (while previously suggested here) isn’t ideal, as it doesn’t support 15KHz video. I can use an OSSC, or another projector that does support it, but I would rather find something slightly more elegant that turns on with the cabinet.

I’m going to try to recreate the wood pieces as well. Does anyone have the measurements or drawings for them?
