In 2025, what is the programmer that you guys recommend for eprom programming? I bought a top3000, but I can’t get it works with software topall8. Apparently the usb is not recognized. I can’t found the last version of the soft for win10. I am asking the seller but it communication is very poor. Is there a better solution ?
 
Shotthecore was using a big stuff for programming in its video what was it ?
 
For EPROM programmers, on the cost-effective end, I recommend the Wellon VP598. It should cost just under $200 on AliExpress and IMHO it's a great programmer. It can test TTL chips, test RAM, and program pretty much all the DIP EPROMs you'll encounter when working on arcade boards Including the 42-pin 27C322 EPROMs.

On the high-end, I splurged for a Dataman-48Pro2C. At $1000, it's definitely not cheap but it's fast, reliable, and handles modern SMD flash chips with the right adapters.

thanks for your answer. I bought the top3000 for 280 USD. I am more and more reluctant to those Chinese crap. I should ask you directly it s my fault. I know for the next time

Does the also write on the 27c801 eproms ?

Thats what I have used for a few years and it worked fone after I indtalled the driver and software. topall8 is the software. Make sure you connect a usb with data pins because I had a cable that would t work and the other usvs did work. There was a youtube video with the drivers and an updated software but I should find the drivers and software install to share with u

Thanks for you help. Actually I already changed the usb cable by the one I am currently sing with my proman which was working well for simms programation.
I will check for the usb with data pin. I don’t know what is it.
After disable the device signature, I installed the software topall8.36, the following driver installed is the following :
liusb-win32 devices
topall013
I don’t know if it is correct but when I open the soft a message popped up: « only support modal:TOP2011/2013/3000/3100. «

Does the driver is not appropriate ? Probably

The Programmer itself needs to be switched on and then when you plug it into your PC you should get a windows notification sound. Maybe I shuold zip this folder up and upload it somewhere for you to download and mayebe these files/folders will help u. I think topall8 has a new software but this one is v8.92
