I apologize for being so new to using this. It worked perfect for fixing som MC27C1000 EPROMs but when I tried a D27C512D I kept getting a bad #28 pin; I assumed it was a software thing, but the write process only goes to 12.5% then fails. Is this a user error or a bad chip ? I’m sure I’m missing something.

XGecu / D27C512D EPROM

After more research, my programmer doesn't have an external port for power. I'm assuming this can't produce enough voltage to program this chip

I doubt it needs more power. It's a 64k x 8 bit rom.

You could try a different 27c512 compatible profile?

Do you have another chip? It could be a dud too.
