This^then use a wider diamond/tungsten bit.
The board's plastic tab in the connector needs to be removed at a minimum... Full pin removal is done merely for ease/convenience.japanese games and board

Don't even bother with a soldiering iron or a hot knife.
I take it was her craft knife you ruined?I used a craft knife and flat blade on a soldering iron. Came out looking nice. All pins intact. Stinks a bit. Missus unfriendly...
