Hello,

I just received my second cabinet. So now i have a New Astro City and a New Net City now. I have to upgrade/replace my actual converter.

Is it better to buy 2 converter of 500VA : like THIS

or

Just one of 1000VA like THIS

Thanks for your help

cant you just reconfigure the cab for 230v?

Both are perfectly valid options. I'm not sure why you think one option would somehow better than the other. Do you want one power brick or two?

The monitor will only take 100V? What do you mean reconfigure?

Thanks for your answers

@stj : Not my goal :)

@nem : it s great, thanks for your confirmation. At the end i'll take only one (the 1000VA)

Thank you very much guys :thumbsup:

Some monitors take both. BTW in NZ cabs were converted using a cheap transformer for the chassis (230VAC down to ~100VAC) installed inside the cab (litterally a bare transformer, no extra caps nor filtering whatsoever). Externally plug is the Oceanian type (50Hz, 230VAC grid).
PSUs generally have a 230/110 switch so that part is easy.

Both the PSUs and the monitors are 100V only. So either you have a transformer inside or outside. External is easier.

the monitor should really have an isolation transformer if it doesnt have a switching psu design.
and if it does then it can probably run at 230 without much change other than the main filter cap.
