I know that we have a handful of supergun users and skilled supergun builders on this forum, so let's post our supergun or supergun setup pictures in this thread : )

I'll start with my setup:

I built this supergun over a year ago. I went for a rather simple design, it features an RGBS out via 8PIN mini DIN, separate audio out, detachable kick harness connector with screw terminals, your usual buttons - TEST & SERVICE, brightness and audio volume pots. Real arcade PSU inside. Instead of the NeoGeo controller ports I used two Sega Saturn converters with a built-in coin mechanism emulator. That's it.

I also designed a different type of supergun that some of you may already be familiar with, it's called HAS (Home Arcade System). It's also pretty simple, but additionally features button layout remapping and autofire.

I always wondered, are your front and back panels laser cut?

Always used a combination of - dremel tool, utility knife, tiny flat file... and a lot of time :D With a printed out sketch you can get it almost perfect.

Very nice, clean and compact looking!

Is the Samsung LCD accepting a 240p (15khz) signal or are you changing/upscaling it?

This blurry shot is my Omega outputting a 15khz signal via component cable... So it seems Sammy's are known/good for this?

Even tho direct 15k support is nice, I find nothing can compare to the xRGB mini > HDMI in terms of image quality.

Most Samsungs will display a 240p signal and upscale to 480i. Usually it depends on the size of the TV. Before it was the 42" and higher ones but looks like the smaller ones are supporting it as well, awesome.

I've had some good luck with Benq PC monitors that support 15k natively, which I use with AMIGAs and some arcade games.
The one I have does 15k with my Amiga 1200 and also works with Tekken Tag 2 Tournament Unlimited (System 369) in HD 1080p :D
Otherwise use the XVGA-BOX which is an industrial scan converter.
Don't bother using those cheapo chinese converters unless the frequency is spot on 15k otherwise it won't sync properly all the time and it'll generally be a pain in the ass. They also don't like it when games change resolution, like several of the Namco System 12 games do. The XVGA-BOX doesn't even blink, it just works with any frequency or resolution. Not cheap, but worth the money because it makes the job easy.

How dose the XVGA compare with a device like the xRGB3 or Mini? Quality/lag?

The xRGB3 is said to have only 2ms of conversion lag (but is VGA only), the Mini 16ms (HDMI).

My 48" Sony LED in "game mode" is listed at 24ms, when added to the Mini I should be 40ms total.
It is noticeable, very clearly so when I split my RGBs before the Mini and displayed side-by-side with the 14" Sony PVM.

the ones made for arcades could be better as far as lag is concerned.
I never looked at the specs.
industrial usually means mostly a static screen that changes occasionally
they are made to fit LCDs into industrial machines that had a CRT
Stuff like CNC machines etc.
like here (0:00-0:10)....

this is what I used to do before the company sacked everyone and moved to India :-/

Thought I would share my work in progress supergun. I designed and built it and then after using it discovered things I wanted to change and I keep finding new things I want to change. Here is the state it is in now. I need to fix up the paint for taking it apart so many times, but need to make a few more changes first :)

The harness next to the jamma is my kick harness adapter. Made it two player compatible with player 1 and 2 db15 ports wired to neo geo standards plus some additional connections added to the unused pins. Has a built in speaker but can be switched to external audio. Knob is for volume control. If anyone is curious I can list out the rest of the stuff I used.

Do you have a picture of the internals? The supergun really looks nice!

I especially like the included power supply. But no CPS2-Kickharness.

i have cps2, cps1 and namco kick harnesses with matching adapters to plug in to the kick harness cable coming out of the supergun.

my mak, built into a knockando 21yrs case, running a cps2 with darksofts mod on a sony pvm29q.

Friend of mine gave me Time Soldiers board and two happ rotary joysticks as xmas present (because I had build him some cables, fixed his supergun etc). So I decided to build cabinet control panel style controller/supergun with those rotaries and adapt neo-geo 4 button (+start & select) to be able to use with other games too. Idea is later also build custom stand for the controller and for tv/monitor.

So I started from the scratch both with the case, its huge, because those rotaries sure need serious room,

and electronics (that is just a simple board with trimmers for RGBS lines and audio attenuation circuit)

And ended up with this

Works nicely with CPS2 too :)

Ive updated and made several changes to my supergun:
LED in front for voltage.
Added hdmi output.
Remounted vga output.
Added RGB color control knobs.
Cleaned up all the internal wires.

Debating on added svideo/composite output?

Also debating adding a voltage knob. My worry is accidentally turning it.

I can do component off the vga.

Came out pretty good. You up for making another one? Someone emailed me asking if I can build them one like yours.

make sure to post up some pics when it's done! Nice project.

I will. It's a big upgrade I plan, so it will take time, but I will.
Right now, focusing a on new jamma cable. ^^
