DARKSOFT Darksoft's MultiMVS Latest Firmware, Menu and Instructions

it looks to me (like @Mitsurugi-w said) a problem with the setup of the microsd. But anyways those resets are not normal and I'm thinking that the motherboard may have a failure. Do you have more original carts to try? If you place it in different slots and let it run for a while, you'll find out if all slots work properly.

It does not auto loop the three games. You have to manually switch the game the cart plays yourself using the button combination. It will just keep playing the selected game until you change it.

The cart does not set up your games on the SD card. You have to put the games folder on the root of the card yourself.

To me it now sounds like your sd card is not properly loaded.
Allow me to clarify. I did load the Neo Geo games into the /games folder in he SD card. Otherwise, how would I see any games in the multicart list at all?

I deliberately put AOF2 in slot 1 of the multicart because I had the actual game AOF1 cart in the first slot. The system kept looping through AOF 1 anyway.

I'll check all my slots this morning, but I've run authentic carts for hours in slot 1 and 2 before and they have swapped demos back and forth without glitching out. I had a 161 in 1 in slot 1 at one point, but removed it because I was getting those resets. Once I removed it, the issues were gone.

That said, I will try this: I'll try my AOF1 game in every slot for an hour and see whether I get the reset glitch.

I didn't know I was supposed to load this file into the SD card before plugging in the cart.
You dont need to update at all. It comes presinstalled from Factory.

I now have the menu folder inside of "update". I also cleared my NVRAM (backup ram). After that, I installed the cart in the second slot behind my AOF3 cart.
If you put menu inside folder update it will do a proper update and copy it into /games/menu

I noticed that in the picture of your post 207 there are line glitches. Are they moving or static?

It was hinted at one point that this may change eventually, that would be rad if so.

I didn't get the menu to appear without those heavy glitches until I installed the menu file from this forum.

The line glitches were static, only moving when the graphics transitioned in and out via animation.

I'm on my fourth slot using AOF 1 cart in each slot for an hour. So far I've not seen any of the reset glitches that I saw with the MVS multicart installed. I'm report back once the 4th slot is tested.

Which exact model of 4 slots did you have? Let me know how it goes but with all the information I have, right now, I think the issue comes from either a bad microSD (or microSD slot) or a power / Supergun issue.

@Mitsurugi-w what do you think?

It's honestly hard to tell without having it in front of me. There are so many variables. All I know is the 4-slot I have works great with the multi. :(

I'm not sure if I'm going to answer correctly, but I own an original MVS 4-slot in cabinet. I've attached a photo of the board.

I bought a new Kingston technology 32GB Class 10 SD card. I attached a photo of that, too. I bought two because they were on sale, which is why this one is still in package. Do I need a different SD card?

I've finished my 4th hour of testing my AOF 1 cart - inserted in each of the slots and demo'ed for an hour. I did not have the reset glitch occur during this period.

Update: I put the multicart back in - this time behind AOF1 and AOF3 and in the 3rd slot. As soon as I turned it on, I got the reset glitch. I powered down, reseated the multicart, and tried again. I got the Unibios and Neo Geo logos, then demo, then after a short while, the reset glitch returned.

Update 2: I removed the multicart, and placed AOF1 in slot 2, and AOF3 in slot 3. I've been running demos for about 1/2 hour without the reset glitch.

Which version of Unibios do you have?
Where did you buy that card? If you are running everything from a cabinet, that's good news. Can you check on the Jamma Edge if the mobo is getting over 5V (5.02-5.05 or so)?
If voltage is good, it must be a microSD / microSD slot thing.

I have Unibios 3.3 - the latest before they updated to 4 recently.

I bought the card from Woot.com - I think that's related to Amazon.com

Unfortunately, I can't check on the Jamma Edge if the mobo is getting over 5V. I don't have the tools for that. Would the mobo at less than 5.02-5.05V affect the original carts, which seem to work without any issues?

Original carts have roms so they are less sensitive to voltage changes (to some extent) and definitely voltage could be the issue.
Do you still have the original BIOS so you can try with that one?

I have the original bios, but I didn't install it originally. Lemony Vengeance did it for me. I don't know if I'm able to install, but have the carts been tested with Unibios before?

it depends if you have a socket for the bios, if so it's as simple a putting a flat screwdriver between socket and chip and very gently levering it from each side until it pops out completely, just be careful not to bend the pins. Also be careful on the hole on the chip which gives the direction. You put the other bios and you're done.

All multislots have socketed Bios, just some 1 slot types that have a soldered Bios

I got the Unibios out and will try the multicart with the original Bios soon.

And like @Darksoft says, check the 5v at Jamma edge.
A multimeter is a must have tool in this hobby ;)
Will only set you back about $10-15
I'll look into it. Really, I was just trying to the the multicart to work and didn't think I'd run into this, but I'll give this multimeter a go before I have to ask about what options I might have to return this cart, or ask Darksoft or someone in the states to test it themselves.

It's an expensive cart, and so far I haven't been able to use it.

UPDATE: I installed the old bios, wired back up to best of my ability to recall, and powered on. I now get a glitched mess upon startup. Not sure if the bios has to be installed a certain way. Again, I didn't install the Unibios, so I'm not certain.
