FS Egret 2/Windy 2/NNC/Q25 (Repair refund)

For Sale
However, I just looked through the pics that Yaton sent and he has pics of the cab working. It's the same cab, I'm sure.
Yep. He said he only had one working Domy Theater, so it's got to be this one.

I'll give your tips a shot. I've checked the fuse, but beyond that hadn't messed with it much yet.

So so are you guys removing or bypassing the 220v step-downs?
These cabs are supposed to be converted to 100-110V if I'm correct.
They're supposed to be, yep!

@radiantsvgun I put a pic of the PSU in the thread earlier. Not sure if that's helpful? There isn't anything in-line between the PSU and the socket in the back for the power cable.

iirc it was only the nnc that were 220v.
Originally, yes. Then Yaton converted them back to 110V. However, they left a wire mess for us to clean up.

I'm part of the EC buy, so I haven't received mine yet. I'll let everyone know how mine turns out.

its got a toshiba pb7534-1 with a toshiba pb7534-2 remote board

:(
That combination sounds about right. The Windy has a PB6643-1 chassis, a PB6643-2 remote board and PB6644 neck board.
Yep, a Windy 2 with a pb7534 chassis and remote board should work nicely, and is auto switching for 15/24/32k inputs. No dip switches are available / necessary.

Tested with Sammy and Naomi 15k and 31k outputs through jamma and vga

So weird there's so much conflicting info on this one. Thanks for testing personally. Soon as the PSU gets figured out hopefully the monitor will just work.

Only hint of 220v wiring in the cabs that I saw was in the NNC. And that is what made up most of the rats nest. The rest of the rats nest was a JVS-to-JAMMA/System Link contraption.

I get access to the Egret II and Windy II again in two days. Any pics needed of either cab?

I got my windy 2 today and I’m having the same problems as 8bit. I get power and sound but no picture. There is a beeping from the chassis like it’s in some sort of protection mode.

Edit- psu is working fine, correct voltages, and I get sound from the cab. I’ve tried it with Jamma and Naomi, still no picture.

finally got caught up. I'm going back to my warehouse tomorrow or Sunday. I will look at my wiring on the Windy as I got it working on my naomi

radiantsvgun, are you able to use a different vga cable, and connect it directly to the chassis connector, rather than going through the splitter on the back panel?

Also, what jamma adaptor are you using?

I am using the jammafier. The I/O is recognized, I get sound, test buttons seems to work, but the chassis seems like its in shutdown. Once I am home tonight I will mess with it more.

With 8bit's cab we're now at:
Bad PSU - I came back to it a few days later, and now it's just outputting 1.x-2.x on all lines...
No video but yes static.

No JAMMA here, but have gone direct to the monitor with known good cables.

I got my cabinets in today too and I'm having the same issue with my Windy 2. I'm using a 120v to 100v step down and the cab powers on, the marquee glows, the PSU puts out the right voltages to power my Naomi but I don't get any video.

I'm also getting the same constant beeping sound which may be coming from the monitor chassis.

I tried both of the VGA cables connected to the back panel, as well as the VGA connection from the chassis connector directly.

I haven't pulled off the back maintenance hatch panel yet, but I noticed this cable dangling which might need to be connected to either the chassis or the neck board?

Thoughts? I'm hopeful that it is something simple that we're missing. Will do some more troubleshooting on it tomorrow.

In other news, the Egret 2 works!

It does make a strange sound I'm not familiar with, like a repeating mechanical whirring in a loop which repeats every few seconds - maybe bad grounding or something along those lines? It's not as noticeable with a game playing, but very noticeable when there's no sound from the game. I'll post a video so you guys can hear it, but let me know if you have any insight.

The E2 monitor puts out a nice bright picture and the Nanao MS9 does not disappoint. Haven't noticed any screen burn or any major issues during my preliminary testing.

The marquee isn't lighting up, but probably just a bad starter.

The Windy 2 doesn't seem to have a weird/mold smell to it, but the Egret 2 kind of does. The first thing I did was pull out the wooden mounting board and I'm thinking I'll just trash it and cut a new one.

Other than the gross mounting board inside it's pretty clean overall. The Windy 2 has some internal rust going on with the internal metal components/mounting hardware but the Egret looks pretty clean inside.

I haven't unwrapped or tested the NNC yet as I was saving it for last, but I'll get to it tomorrow or this weekend. 8)

I'll also post more pics of the cabs as well. Just wanted to give a quick update with where I'm at.

Looks like one of the yoke connectors, hard to tell in this pic
