What's new

FS Egret 2/Windy 2/NNC/Q25 (Repair refund)

For Sale
I asked like morse. He said it could be a fuse or custom part since nothing pops up on searching for it. He's never see the one in picture before. But ask Grantspain he is a wizard.

Noble is a Japanese resistor company: https://www.noble-j.co.jp/en/products/discrete/resistor/

maybe shoot them an email?

looking at your picture it might actually be a fusable resistor, so there may be more to it than it's resistance value, and replacing it may uncover other issues with the chassis (eg: buy more than one incase the new one blows as soon as you install it)

I knew who they were at least. Wasn't sure if there was much point contacting them in English, and admittedly didn't put any effort into finding out last night.

The chassis had a full go over aside from this. Replaced over half the components on it judging by the soldering.

Threw my trust into the overpriced local electronics shop and bought some replacements this morning that the owner said are comparable. We'll see how it turns out later this afternoon.

Best of luck!! Hope you're able to get the Domy back in business with those parts.

Domy is still dead...

No static at the monitor. Just this sound.

That click sounds an awful lot like when a HOT gives out. Did they replace that?
It's a lot different than the ones I'd experienced in the past.

Not sure. I emailed them last night, showing them the resistor, but didn't hear anything back yet today. Going to call them if they're still open and see what work they did do to the chassis.

"I replaced a whole bunch of things. Whole bunch. Caps, and a whole bunch of things. Test the horizontal transistor or something around it."

Ugh...

It’s finally here boys!!!!!!!!!
thanks to my buddy speedswan

@ rewrite,what’s the part # you need?

Congrats!

I got the part number, it was a mistake on Sharp's part saying they didn't have it. Unfortunately even replacing that I'm left with a dead monitor..

@rewrite sorry to hear that
But i’m sure it could be fixed

Mine i know it’s not working or at least that’s what i was told
But don’t matter i’ll tested tonight and if its not working
I’ll make it work for sure

I’ll share findings and keep you posted

I'm sure it can be too. I'm just fed up with it, so I'll come back to it in a week or two.

So I've got it out anyway...

How do I identify which transistor is the HOT? I was told it's "closest to the flyback" but there are three equidistant from it...

Is that Q603?

I have D1910, NTE2302 equivalent there. Which tested bad.

This one!

i’m taking mine apart at the moment

Ohh.

Well, the other one tested bad anyway. So... Ha.

These were my findings
I took all capacitors out and measured them all
i had about 8 of them completely dead, fuse was not blow
One of the capacitors was completely destroyed and smell terrible
And i could see a bit of damage on bottom of chassis ,acid i guess

But after i put it back on.it did turn on
But no picture,i almost give up cause chassis started to act funny and I could hear something poping real loud,
i took out again and reflow everything
Including all color cables from remote boards snd neckboard
And now it looks amazing

On the other hand, my power supply is completely dead and i will look at it some other day
So how come i have picture? Well i’m using my supergun from my test bench:)
