What's new
Maybe you can help boil it down for me. I’ve read the first post like 3 times, and still couldn’t get a clear grasp of what I need. There’s just so much wording in the original post that it’s overwhelming the info.

I have a cab wired for model 2 (Daytona). I want to run model 2, model 3, Naomi, and Cruisin’ games.

in this case, what would I need for hardware to make this model 2 cab universal to run all of the above?

Will you run these games on legit arcade motherboards or on a PC?
Does your driveboard (force feedback) work on your cabinet or not?

Ok so you will need the following:
  • Sega Force Feedback Controller Card
  • PWM2M2 card
  • M2HACK (see after)
You won't need the other cards I mentioned on my side as you cabinet is not JVS and you are not looking at running a PC in this cabinet.

Following up a discussion I had with Aganyte about your setup, he is designing the equivalent of the JVSHACK card but for M2 which is named M2Hack

This card will look like this (here compatible with a Daytona M2 setup), he is also working on the other M2 hardware variations.

Depending on the systems you will run first, you may need additional hardware, but as discussed with Aganyte in private, we'll be able to guide you in the process the get the most out of your racing cabinet.

The three cards mentioned before are definitely mandatory, one does not exist yet (Daytona M2Hack), and will need testing, but Aganyte is really fast at designing cards.

In addition to the point of contacts listed in the original message, you can also contact him directly on discord, his account is aganyte#6956. He's perfectly fluent in English.

Fantastic! Thank you @Mackie , I will get in contact with him.
This is going to be an awesome upgrade to this cabinet! Gives me a lot of options.

Ended up talking to Aganyte on discord and purchasing the 3 boards you mentioned. Very nice guy, and gave me some good information on these cards.
I look forward to getting these installed into the cabinet!

Excellent!

Yes I will add some details on this thread at some points about all the cards Aganyte designed, it might be interesting for some people to have a better understanding on all the possibilities. But fow now I am focusing at detailing the steps using my very own setup.
Feel free to also add the progress on your cabinet here!

Awesome! I’m looking forward to getting my hands on them.
let us know how it works for you.

Any chance one of you guys can show me how you are connecting everything up? I still haven't hooked mine up yet, I'm sorting through my parts and cables now, but I wouldn't mind seeing how the wiring set-up is for you guys.

I don't understand what they are saying.
Yes there are many.

I’ve been quite busy recently and did not do much progress on my side because I am waiting for a specific pc unit which should have been delivered already for quite some time but it’s been delayed.
Once I get that unit, then I will resume the work on it and continue document my progresses here.

I'm about to take the plunge on an initial d3 cab running a naomi 2 Inside...
I want to run arcade hardware Initially(chihiro, triforce etc) but I will most likely end up with a PC sooner than later...

The only thing I'm a little concerned about is the button limitation and gear change functionality on this particular cab.
Is it possible most games work as expected, even without the same number of buttons available for each game?
Say I have 1 start button and a low and high gear shifter, can these be remapped or configured in a way to allow dual functionality for example 1 button to change multiple views in Daytona?

Unfortunately in order to be able to play all the games you do need all the buttons.
You need at least 5 buttons on the control panel and 2 on the steering wheel.

I also have 2 initial D stage 3 cabs and purchased complete Daytona USA control panel to swap them. The only thing im missing is the steering wheel buttons, those R-tuned wheels are impossible to find. I will either drill and wire push buttons or Aganyte may be working on a wireless solution as well.

Here's an older picture from Sebarcade with the button config needed.

Hi,

So which games work with your original hardware intact without hardware modifications?
Are you running arcade hardware or a PC in yours?

Do you know which games are supported on real hardware or PC? Does the FF and everything else work as good on PC etc?

Cant really tell you, my setup is planned for SebArcade custom drive config so they can all be playable. Hard to tell each of the 200 games and how many buttons they each require... You will need to test and see.
